Kyles I dont think he's saying in any way that people dont care about other tragedies. I think he means that the others dont get the exposure they deserve in relation to 9/11.
"nobody seems to give 2 shits when people in third world countries die, like the tsunami."

This is the line I was refering to.

I don't mean to sound like I'm arguing with you Glenn......I respect your opinion, Sweet :) but I just didn't agree with that line and had to express it :)

I don't know what the media coverage has been for other tragedies such as the Boxing Day Tsunami, the Bali bombings...etc; It was massive over here!
    Agreed 911 was more.
Quite frankly......I wish all of it was less......not more. Yes I want to be aware when these things happen in the world, but when it is shoved in your face via tv, news papers etc; day after day......it's just depressing :(

    OK.....just realized, I'm ranting a bit much now......end :)

Correct, i didn't mean not everyone cares, but to me the publicity 9/11 gets you'd think it was the only thing to ever happen in the history of the world.

but really how much have you heard about the flooding in north korea and india lately??

American news didn't even cover the boxing day tsunami, Americans don't even know what goes on outside of America most of the time.

i'm just a little sick of the world having to revolve around America.

they are not the greatest country in the world, their unemployment rate is terrible, their working conditions and minimum wage are ridiculous, their health care system is non-existent, they just happen to have the biggest bombs so that makes them the most powerful nation in the world.

instead of spending trillions fighting meaningless wars they should fix the shit that is going on in their own backyard.

Totally agree with all of that hun :)
I misinterpretted what you'd said......when you said nobody gives a shit.....I thought you meant people in general, not the media.
Sorry, and glad it's all clear to me now :o

I do, however remember seeing footage from the US regarding the Tsunami though.......I still know what you mean though. I'm not defending them at all! :)

Jim congratulations mate thats awesome. I understand the sacrifices you make and its bloody tough. At one stage me and a friend did 6 weekends straight and 8-10 hours each day - its depressing, draining and damn hard.

I aint missed any snow tho - taken a few months off and Im dreading going back. Congratulations mate - really happy for you!!!!

Cheers mate, yeah it was bloody tough, and it only gets tougher when they release the 'suggested solutions' and most of my answers dont match even though I had pretty correct references hehe

Getting the weekends back is a big thing, was nice to relax on the weekend...

    Thanks again :D

I don't know substitute... when they played it I was lost... and with it being last song I was a bit disappointed... but i guess they had to play a cover together. I'm about to google Substitute... maybe I needed to be old to know the song ;)

Yes I was there.... E.K... Daniel Johns was a bit weird (but i don't mind him)... funny accents to announce shit... but they rocked, he tore up the guitar.. i was in awe of his playing, all the guys rocked it out.... and they played the songs very damn good, i'd never see nthem before live, but i was happy i have now. I was watching Silverchair, turned to my mate and said... "I can't believe this... We're listening to this... THEN Powderfinger are coming out..." He made a comment about me blowing something along the lines of a load.... haha

Powderfinger were great too as you may have gathered :) Sunsets was ordinary.. (to anyone whop was there you know I don't mean that)... I had no voice left...

All that after seeing Snow Patrol kick arse the night before.... pity i was second floor section for that heh. glad to be tall in that case! What a fucking awesome weekend... the city was also dead afterward.... found a few packed pubs though in amongst the silence...

I liked it when Silverchair did their old stuff. It would have been awesome if they'd done Tomorrow

So did you see the stage diver? All I saw was a guy seem to appear out of nowhere and jump off the stage into the audience and the next thing I saw about 10 security guys running through the crowd as well as ambulance officers running down the aisles..

Things are good. I'm still working hard and the new house on the north coast is coming along well. We're also moving in two weeks to another part of Sydney. :)
