Bit of a read but bear with me. Please
So a couple of years ago my entire world changed. A girl I had recently stopped going out with discovered she was expecting. Whilst there was talk of us reconciling we feared & ultimately agreed that we had not worked for good reasons & 'giving it a go' was the wrong move. So we stayed as single individuals & worked at the fact that we were about to become parents in a less than normal scenario. As you'd expect there were many ups & downs but we survived each in turn & are now I'm proud to say very close friends with the best thing in common - our daughter.Fast-forward 2 years & I'm planning our gorgeous little girl's 2nd birthday party. We've forged a great collaborative effort as parents & it's obvious the correct decision was made by & for all 3 of us collectively & singularly. We've both moved on as individuals with friends & romantic interests & remain very good friends.
So, where's the issue?
Well in life when things like this happen you have to adjust. I had to move back in with my folks to be able to free up some money & then once our girl arrived as you'd imagine I suddenly wasn't around much from my friends points of view. Whislt my best mate of 20 years is still talking copious amounts of rubbish with me my so-called other friends decided that a child & my being a parent ultimately ruined their chacne of socialising & effectively simply stopped inviting me to events & gatherings. I'd liketo say I'm not bitter but that would be a lie. I had a massive slump in self-confidence & in a lot of ways shut myself away until recently.
In the meantime I somehow (how the hell I managed it I'll never know!) met & fell in love with a great girl who I now have just moved in with. Unbelievably she had been through similar treatment from so-called friends so we were on the same elvel in terms of socialising.
So what the hell does this have to do with PJ?
Whilst I've always known of PJ I was very much of the "Ten" mould in that I'd had that album & knew & liked some other tracks later on. 1 night I saw Eddie Vedder on a TV show with Laird Hamilton, the surfer. He played him Big Wave as they travelled in a car, obvisouly the show was littered with other songs. I decided to check them out. I re-visited older albums & basically immersed myself into PJ & Vedder. I picked up Ukulele Songs shortly after & then discoverd PJ20 was nearing release.
In short I "fell" for PJ.
So other than a great bessie-mate & my wonderful girlfriend I've found that socially I'm a little short. I'm ready to be re-released "Into The Wild" socially. I figured the Pearl Jam family had already saved my life in so many ways that this was the best place to start & hopefully finish.
So if there are any PJ fans who want to get in touch & say hello I'd be grateful. I'd love to get chatting & hopefully make a whole new batch of friends in the process. I've seen that Pearl JAMMER are playing in London in September so am definitely checking them out, if I can share a beer with a fan I'd be made up!
Thanks for reading, take care.

Thanks for sharing your story. I see that you registered today and this is your first post, which is always exciting. I am still planning to hang my first post to my living-room.

It is never late to fall in love with PJ. One thing that comes with it is the unstoppable desire to see live shows. In that respect, I am not very good with 10C rules, but I am guessing that you might have secured the chance to join the lottery for upcoming US fall tour. If you like to travel, sor sure.
I am also still kind of newbie and not the most social guy but I enjoy hanging out in this forum. It is fun. Even the occasional complaning is kind of cool.
Hope you'll like it, too. Enjoy.. What's your part, who you are?

Enjoy the ride! I'm currently residing in Portsmouth. If you ever come here, beers are on me!

Thanks for the replies guys, bit gutted there's not more though to be honest.
I can't wait to see Pearl Jammer in London, UK in September, it's as close as I can get ...for now.
I'm seeing lots of mentions regarding a new album/tour - anyone care to update me with facts? IS there any indication as to the type of tour - US, Canada, Europe? IF they aren't coming out to Europe then there's only 1 thing for it - I'm going Stateside!0 -
Seen Pearl Jammer a few times now as they are from Liverpool. Kev (aka Eddie) and I grew up in adjacent streets, had some of the same friends but went to different schools. Anyway he's a good guy and they are a superb Pearl Jam experience. Enjoy.Pearl Jam

Oh, dont worry about that, it's just everyone is kind of nervous with prolonged waiting for the tour/album news.
Next tour is US in autumn this year. If you have the chance to do the States trip, it's great. What's your part, who you are?
