hey, has anyone used hotwire or priceline for the wrigley shows? i first tried priceline but to no avail. started in mag mile area 5* then eventually added the loop and went all the way down to 3*, i stayed in the 120's. like i said no luck, so on hotwire they had a 4* in the loop for 134$ and i booked that. i got the allegro, which seems like a good deal. has anyone stayed there? or has anyone got a better deal somewhere else? we are just going from friday night to saturday. it looks like they still have that deal on hotwire if anyone is interested.

I found out that as long as Friday night is on your search, that $120 range isn't going to work. I ended up booking at a 4* for Thur and Fri at $125 for Thur and $185 for Fri, so $155/night avg, I did this through hotels.com.
You may be able to get something in the Mag Mile 4* + at $150/night at the lowest.
Good luck.___________________________________________________________

Monday night I got Thursday/Friday night (Check in on 7/18, check out on 7/20) for $75 a night at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. A little further south than I wanted, but we also got the 3 day CTA pass from Groupon at $10, so will uses buses and the Red Line and be good to go. Basically used the same approach as you; got the Hyatt with a 3 1/2 star check.Peace, Love, Pearl Jam

yea i ended up getting the 134$ on hotwire which was the allegro, im happy. they also have on groupon a 3 day cta pass for 9$ right now which i got, we are only staying one night but plan on getting there early friday and leaving late sunday, we are from toledo. its also a better deal then a one day pass, which is $10. another tip, we usually drive to midway and park, which is $14 a day compared to about $50 a day downtown. we just take the orange line in, cheap and easy.0

How are you getting there on Friday, leaving Sunday, yet only staying one night? That's a pretty cool trick if you can pull it off.walterf wrote:yea i ended up getting the 134$ on hotwire which was the allegro, im happy. they also have on groupon a 3 day cta pass for 9$ right now which i got, we are only staying one night but plan on getting there early friday and leaving late sunday, we are from toledo. its also a better deal then a one day pass, which is $10. another tip, we usually drive to midway and park, which is $14 a day compared to about $50 a day downtown. we just take the orange line in, cheap and easy. The only people we should try to get even with...

Hyatt offers the Best Rate Guarantee, in which if you find a better rate at a different website than Hyatt.com, they'll match that rate, plus they offer you a 20% discount.
I wanted to stay at the Hyatt Regency, but the $249 rate at their site was more than what I was looking for. I checked Kayak everyday for several weeks until I saw that same hotel at $177 through getaroom.com. I called the number on Hyatt.com, and they honored their best rate promise, offered me the 20% discount, and ended up with a $141 rate. I think is a good deal, considering it has a great location.
If you wanna try this, you can check the terms and conditions on their web page, but I think is a really great alternative.

I got a room at the Chicago South Loop off of Hotwire/ via Kayak, for 95 a night! And there's free parking, and free breakfast!! Damn that was a good deal!! 4 nights for just over 400. Sold! Then I got one of those 3 day passes too.. Well I got two actually ( one for my sister). Now I just need to figure out what we're gonna go see and do on the 18th and 20th. Huh?? I have mine booked now. It's been booked for two weeks and I googled this place it's really nice!! It's in a semi-"off" area I saw, but fuck, I lived three months in a homeless encampment in L.A. Outside of Echo park.. I think I'll be ok in the loop!! Lol just have to bring my mace! But I'm good, I can be a bad ass bitch when I have to.. Believe me.. I throw horses and bulls on the ground.. I'll fuck a human UP!! Hahaha! But really. I'm happy with what I got!! The hotel has an outdoor pool, a salon, the free parking is the best, cause it's a guarded PL, a d one meal a day is covered! Can't beat that!! Plus we're sooooo close to Chonatown! Can't wait to check out my fifth"Chinatown" in the states!! It's going to be a blast!! Only one last piece of the puzzle left to place!! Then I'm set! Getting all excited!0

Nice work. I might have to try this. I'm booked at the Hyatt Regency as well. Looks like I only paid 161.20 per night with a AAA discount. I booked right away before they raised prices, so probably a long shot that I see a rate lower than what I paid, but still great info. Thanks againGorge0 -
I'll be at the Allegro for Friday evening.
Now, who can tell me what I'll need to know to take the El to Wrigley?Midwest. Indy/Lafayette.0 -

1) Walk East to the closest Red Line stop (I think there's one that intersects at Washington St)
2) Ride north to Wrigleyville stop (its like, 10mins maybe - just a few stops)
3) Get off, walk to stadium 2blks away
4) ENJOY PEARL JAM!
FYI, you can take the Blue Line to right near your hotel direct from O'hare, as well. It's a really easy trip. Just take it until the Washington St stop, and your hotel is just a couple short blocks away it appears.
