GCJr is badass however he is too versed in the blues/jam scene to make logical sense.

Hey if the Black Keys and Ben Harper (back in the day) opened... not mention Otis Rush... Gary Clark Jr should fit just fine!! I haven't heard this guy on album but every time I've seen him live on TV he is fucking badass.... I would actually enjoy that opener!! Unlike most of the bands who open for PJ, no matter how old/legendary/well liked by the band etc they are... not naming names... just leave it at that. I wish I would have seen them with the Black Keys... probably would have made me get into them a couple years earlier than it took me in real life!

I got into Band Of Horses because of them opening in 2010... one of the only openers I've actually gone out and bought music from after seeing them open.

    Gary Clark Jr would rule!!!!

He would be my # 1 choice. If anyone else is seeing him at the 20th anniversary Telluride Blues & Brews festival in mid September let me know. Might be able to help out with a camping option.

Vintage Trouble would be great also. Saw them open for the Who last year. One of the few times where I was equally excited to see the opener as well as the headliner.
