Ray Manzarek, a founding member of the 1960s rock group The Doors whose versatile and often haunting keyboards complemented Jim Morrison's gloomy baritone and helped set the mood for some of rock's most enduring songs, has died. He was 74.

    This is shocking news. I just met John Densmore at a book signing in Sacramento last Thursday and he talked about his hopes to heal the rift between himself and Manzarek and Krieger- he described the last chapter of his book as an olive branch to the two. He said "Maybe we should get together and do a benefit or something." I have no doubt Densmore is feeling devastated right now. :cry:

    i am really bummed out about this. the man was an innovator.

    sorry to hear that densmore may not have ever gotten closure with him. it is always sad when someone dies and there are unresolved issues or conflicts.
