    Light Years.

And Light Years, Vancouver 2009, is the highlight of all of (6) my PJ concert experiences.

Parachutes and Light Years should never, ever, EVER be mentioned in the same sentence.

Light Years is a phenomenal song.
    Parachutes? Not so much.

    "tough one"

    (hehe)

Anyways... I think both songs are crippled but have a lot of potential. Light Years is really powerful with the lyrics and all but somehow that doesn't come through completely. Something holds that song back - especially live.

Parachutes is a personal favorite - but it's crippled by Stone Gossards lack of lyrical punch (as in all his songs). He is somewhere between the focused and clear storytelling-lyrics of Eddie and the poetic thrown-together lyrics of Jeff Ament, and in their in the middle its just turns into nothing if you don't listen closely and focused.

Let me be a little more specific.
Parachutes may possibly be one of the worst songs, written by any band.

    Just my humble opinion.

Not too tough for me, Light Years by a mile. Man, that Pinkpop 2000 version will always give me chills.

Light Years means so much to me personally. I do like Parachutes, but I would have to pick Light Years over Parachutes. I hope to hear Light Years (and Parachutes too!) live one day.

This one is not even close for me. Parachutes is not even close to being in the same ballpark as Light Years for me.

    So, Light Years it is.
    Peace, Love.

I think if it was Light Years Vs Sad that might make it a closer contest.

I love both but if I have to pick: PARACHUTES.

    Underappreciated masterpiece.

Parachutes by a mile for me. It's so much more interesting than Light Years IMO. Light Years is great and I love it... but Parachutes is my favorite song from Avocado, and one I really badly want to hear live. Clearly I'm in the minority. :P

Love both songs but Light Years wins this one.
  • Can only agree with prev comments 'Lights Years'. In my top 10 and for me personally music and lyrics mean a great deal always reminds me of someone I lost to soon and miss very much.

I like Parachutes, but I can live without it. This version is nice, but I listen to Light Years every day, and it's one of my most favorite songs.

Light Years, no question. I like Parachutes but no contest for me.
