The Big Test Tonight For My Prego Wife

The bigger issue than the crowd and noise may be how hot it is at Wrigley, it being an outdoor show. My wife is going to be just about 8 months at that point, and she had me get her a ticket (her sister, an O.B., is going to the show as well, though she and her husband have separate seats from us). She has reserved the right to back out at the last moment if the trip to Chicago has exhausted her or the heat seems like too much, and will just stay back at the hotel that night.
As far as noise, we went to see Fleetwood Mac about a month ago, and in the last stretch of the concert, the baby was moving and kicking a lot when they played the louder electric songs with full drums and bass (the acoustic stuff wasn't bad). She walked out to the arena concourse and the baby calmed down. So we're not sure if he loved or hated the concert, but he definitely had a reaction!
Also, having seen SG last week (without my wife), I can say it's a ridiculously loud indoor show. PJ at Wrigley might be less problematic in the open-air setting.0 -
Good luck man! My wife and I are expecting our little girl any day now...www.cluthelee.com0

You might want to get her ear plugs. Actually, get yourself some too. They are LOUD.0

We saw Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder solo, so I made sure I showed her videos so she would know that it's going to be very different. She wants to go anyway, so I guess we will see. I'm hoping for a Hartford PJ show and maybe she'll want to go in a few months.0

Make sure she has a good view of Chris Cornell. If anything he makes for good eye candyaw207897 wrote:We saw Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder solo, so I made sure I showed her videos so she would know that it's going to be very different. I was thinking of going tnite. Not a huge sg fan, but I'm dropping my kid off at her moms, 5 mins from the oakdale. Why not, right?0

DO IT. I was not a huge SG fan before I saw them live and to be honest probably still am not but hearing their songs live is just a pretty mindblowing experience. Matt is really in his element with Soundgarden and Chris Cornell is god-likemookieb10 wrote:I was thinking of going tnite. I didn't go to Pink Floyd when I was 18 using the logic that I will see them next time around. I'm never going to miss a band that I want to see ever again...that's why I'm dragging her to see SG. Some bands you just have to go.0

Im convinced... Any idea what time they've been going on? If you see a 24 year old guy in a 98 yield tour tie die and glasses, be sure to say hi... That's me.0

I went back in January, not sure if that's a good gauge. Doors 7:00, ticket start time 8:00, band was on stage by 8:30. No opening band.

Good decision to go. Our daughter was born in January and we saw DMB and The Avett Brothers early in the pregnancy, Def Leppard and Poison at about 6 months, and Eddie solo after 7 months with no issues. We left Def Leppard a little early because it was loud and very hot, but she still had a good time. The baby's hearing develops later in the pregnancy and that is something to keep in mind, but as long as you aren't going to loud shows every week, one or two here and there should be fine. Just make sure your lady has a seat and go enjoy yourselves. Congrats on the kiddo. Good luck, hopefully she'll do great. My wife was pregnant for Jeff Beck (1 month), Neil Young (1 month) Eddie solo (2 month), Paul McCartney (3 month), PJ20 (5 months - both nights AND we camped) and then Van Halen the week of her due date. Van Halen was pushing it (no pun intended) and the biggest issue was probably moving among the crowd in the concourse and not the show itself. Now this year my wife will be 5 months pregnant for the London and Wrigley shows. We are going to both and as other poster said my only real concern is if it's a really hot day at wrigley. Otherwise, don't expect any issues.0

My wife and I are sleeping in different rooms until July 16th! FUCK THAT! :fp: We missed out on PJ20 and had to eat our entire weekend package due to policy bc her Doc put her on bedrest 3 weeks before the show

There is NO F'N way that shit is happening EVER again!

She will be fine. My wife saw PJ with me pregnant with each of my 3 kids. One was at the PJ/Petty show in Milwaukee two weeks before she gave birth. I thought the old man Petty fan next to me was going to shit himself when he saw how hard my wife was rockin' out! Good Times! Old man thought he was going to get placenta all over him.0 -
Just saw SG last weekend and was not impressed.
