Hi and welcome! As always, nice to see someone my age on here (I'm 20). I 'found' PJ (or rather, they found me!) when I was 15. Since, I've only seen PJ 3 times, but I can tell you what you're in for is something you've never experienced before. There is absolutely nothing quite like a PJ show, and nowhere I'd rather be than a PJ show.

As for luck getting tickets, that's all it is- luck. Thankfully, I stand by 'there is always a ticket.' It's especially helpful to be part of the community- makes 'there's always a ticket' even easier. If you don't get through the 10c sale, try TM. If not TM, don't fret. Between the boards, TM drops day of show, and pre-parties, you're bound to find at least 1 extra.

That's awesome you saved up so much and are willing to travel to see PJ. I hope to one day be able to travel to see PJ--between school and finances, it's hard! But I do have a little bit saved up and like you, hope the fall brings all smiles. And I know the feeling of 'I started this obsession late and they're not getting any younger!' I hope this fall brings many shows your way!

Other people may think "oh that's nuts".

I would like to throw in my 2 cents here. FUCK OTHER PEOPLE.

If I hadn't stopped listening to other people a few years ago I'd never leave ny. Once you decide you're going whether anyone comes with you or not, it changes everything.

I wanted to see PJ in 2006 but couldn't get anyone to go with me so I didn't go. In 2008 I was able to see them locally and it was a big deal. I wanted to go to more shows but again i got no support from friends. So when I saw some travel agency had a package for the Australia/NZ tour in 2009 I called and got them to quote me just for the NZ part. Obviously, if I couldn't get anyone to go UPSTATE with me no one was gonna be willing to travel to the other side of the planet, so I told everyone to go fuck themselves when they told me I was crazy and I went on my own. Obviously this was jumping in the deep end, and extremely extremely expensive, but ya know. #yolo *ducks*
after that experience I approached travelling for shows entirely differently. I looked at hotels, flights, packages etc etc picked what suited me best and just put out that i was going if anyone wanted to join me. Since then, I've gone to Cleveland and AC for non-PJ shows, Atlanta and Jersey for PJ, and I'm going to Wrigley. I also plan to go wherever I can get tickets that don't require driving to venues for the fall tour.

I regret nothing. Other people are stupid. Listen to you.

Oh and also DC ... thrice.

  • Wow! So far I am LOVING this forum! It is so nice to connect with other pj fans and have all you put in you "2 cents" and valuable advice. You guys rock!

As for this upcoming tour, I am Way more positive than I was before about getting tix. Basically, I know I'll get some in some way. I'm going to continue to save up, hopefully I'll have $1500 by the tour start. I'm aiming for 5 shows!!

Also, I live in San Diego, CA, so I feel that there will likely be a lot of shows in my region :) Maybe if I'm Really lucky I'll hear Oceans (I feel they play it more often on coastal shows)

dont fret young grasshopper. when theres a will ( u sound like u got it ) theres a way.
Just dont buy from craigslist!!!! way too many scammers.

10c tixs are hit or miss, just be glad we get a shot. sometimes shows like wrigley or msg, you may have to pay up and use stubhub. At least stubhub has some sort of protection.

another little tid bit, when they play a venue they havent played, after stage set up etc, usually seats become available day of show. Only problem they have played most places.

PS - usually the shows without all the hype turn out to be the memorable ones!!!

I just want to second that. As someone once reminded me, ya gotta spend it all! :D

Seriously, I can't believe how long it took me to catch on to the fact that traveling to see extra shows is the only way to go. Now I've seen them in 6 states and 7 countries on 3 continents. Wouldn't trade a moment of it.
