I saw Willie Nelson last night (PJ related)

and i was watching the show i started to think about a reoccurring post/argument around here.
Willie played several of his classics - On the Road Again, Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys, Always On My Mind etc... and i couldn't help but think that these classics are probably similar to PJ's Evenflow - Elderly Woman - Alive - Daughter etc. I wondered if some of these fans, who were getting up there in age to say it politely, were sick of hearing Willie play these songs. I mean he has been around for almost 10 thousand years so some of the people in the crowd may have heard On The Road Again 20,ooo x's!
Now I on the other hand only saw Willie one other time in 2006 and i don't really remember it (alcohol induced temporary memory loss) so I was totally stoked that he was playing all of his classics. I mean that is Willie Nelson - those songs define him. That may have been my only shot to ever see him and I am so glad to got to see some of those songs performed live!
Now I have always been a fan of Willie - just never really made it to a show -- does that mean i don't deserve to hear the classics? Because the fans who have seen Willie 200 times might get bored?
Maybe we forgot why we fell in love with Pearl Jam to begin with. For me personally it wasn't when i heard Push Me, Pull Me the first time .... I was Evenflow. It was Alive. It was Jeremy.
*quick note - Lucas was there, however they did NOT play Just Breathe.

Yep, same for me...it was Ten and No Code that hooked me...every fkn track...certainly not the older stuff that got my heart all a'flutter.0

That's Cool! too bad about Just Breathe. I like when a concert is a nice mix of that bands big hits and there new songs, must be hard when you've been around as long as Willie though. When P.J. play Alive or Even Flow though, i head to the restroom, just have no emotional attachment to them anymore. The radio murdered them for me.0

Extremely well put and yes very true! But we have become spoiled brats...
If we could all admit and learn that maybe it wouldn't be such an issue.
