Very strange that last night had so few people attend.... But it was the most songs I've seen them do and I've seen them a bunch since they came back.

Just incredible musicianship going on with them and Matt is fucking stealing the show most of the night. Encore kicked major ass.

Got home to LI,NY at 130am and had to wake up 5am :(

Thanks guys for at least giving me some nice things to remember as I try to get thru today.

I'm wondering about Matt....Soundgarden is getting their act together, new album is awesome...all members are contributing, etc. This is Matt's type of gig.

I don't see him being happy playing backspacer tunes and with all of the side projects going on I'm not sure this new album is going to keep him interested more than Soundgarden.

Cornell tweeted yesterday that he doesn't see an end to Soundgarden putting out more music which means more touring, etc.

I'm thinking PJ is going to be needing a new drummer.

By far the worst crowd I've ever seen at any show. More than half empty and virtually no response from anyone. It was evident the band was not too thrilled.
Very weird place to play for a band like Soundgarden. It's safe to say they won't be coming back.

That being said the guys were absolutely pros. They gave the crowd more than they deserved and played their balls off. Cornell's voice is so amazing.

They let a fan play guitar on Spoonman and it was excellent. State Trooper tease into Non-State Actor was sweet. Outshined - Slaves and Bulldozers 1-2 punch to end was incredible.
    Springsteen's "State Trooper"?

Yes just a verse or two but it was great
    Awesome!

The Wallingford crown should be interesting. It's a weird venue. Not too big so hopefully it'll be packed

I haven't been there since I was a kid. I hope the crowd doesn't suck tomorrow.

Same here man! Reading all these show reviews is getting me pumped to see them at the Palladium. We'll be out there early to tailgate since the next day is Memorial Day and have a chance to recover.

Chris does a great solo version, if you haven't seen. Would be cool to see it Soundgarden-ized! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kTHyVgkWk0

    Some questions:

Have the merch stands been inside or outside?

How much are shirts and posters going for? Can you bring your own poster tube?

this. hoping to get a poster, and maybe a shirt too.
Saw them earlier in the tour (January in NYC). Merch was inside the venue but I waited until after the show to get posters and there were plenty left. The posters also ended up on soundgardenworld.com. I didn't bring a poster tube, but I think whether or not you can bring tubes is venue-specific, I'd probably call them and ask.

Posters were $35, shirts were $30. Posters were all s/n and there were 10 randomly signed by the band in the stack.

Thanks for the info! I'm just trying to figure out if I should wait to get a poster before or after the show on Friday. I may bring a poster tube. Not sure yet.

I waited because I had GA tickets and the goal was to get on the rail :D If I had seats I'd probably have gotten it before the show since I'm normally a spaz about merch. However, there were still posters after each of the NYC shows and they showed up on the website after the shows so there's a good chance that will be the case for your show as well.

Oh, and they didn't have poster tubes, only the plastic baggies.

Enjoy the show!! Jealous, really want to see them again. They were in top form when I saw them (twice in January, twice in November). So cool. Probably the tightest band I've seen live, ever!

Went to see Soundgarden at the Worcester Palladium last night. This is the first time I have seen them in about 20 years. Was a great show, especially seeing them in smallish venue that seats about 4000. And stopping at the Armsby Abbey beforehand for some great beer was certainly a win.

    Setlist:
    1. Searching with My Good Eye Closed
    2. Spoonman
    3. Room a Thousand Years Wide
    4. By Crooked Steps
    5. Attrition
    6. Blood on the Valley Floor
    7. A Thousand Days Before
    8. Pretty Noose
    9. Burden in My Hand
    10. Big Dumb Sex
    11. Ty Cobb
    12. Hunted Down
    13. Superunknown
    14. Fresh Tendrils
    15. Mailman
    16. The Day I Tried to Live
    17. Been Away Too Long
    18. Blow Up the Outside World
    19. Fell on Black Days
    20. Drawing Flies
    21. Rusty Cage

    Encore:
    22. Non-State Actor
    23. Flower
    24. Outshined

Here is video I took of Rusty Cage & Outshined.

GREAT show last night. Band was really happy to be there. Surprising they didn't play Black Hole Sun -- although their most famous song, they play it about 90% of the time these days. Poster was really cool too incorporating Union Station (famous Worcester building) into the scene!

    Enjoy!

For the shows I went to in January, there were no opening bands. Show time was 8:00, they came on around 8:30 or so and played for a good 2 hours.

Be prepared to see Matt Cameron's skillz in full display, especially during JCP!

Also, the crowd seemed to vary; at one of the shows I went to back in November, there was some serious moshing going on right in front of the stage, however at the other shows I went to in January, no moshing, at least not right by Kim's (Mike's) side.

Well, to each their own. I go to lots of concerts and don't want to lose my hearing. Soundgarden is louder than the average band, and definitely louder than PJ.
