Not a fan of Kid Rock, but kudos to him doing this.

PJ - take heed, please!! Many of us don't make a ton of money, we are still big fans so consider those of us who could use a break!

I like Kid Rock. He spanned a few musical genres and still managed to stay relevant. He is also very musically talented as he can play a number of instruments. I'm sure a lot of people that don't like him will use Bawitdaba or American Bad Ass to back up their claim. Hes got a lot of good tunes and clearly is in touch with his audience even though he is a multi-millionaire. He also brews his own beer only so he can sell it at his own shows and undercut Anheuser Busch by charging $4 for his beer vs $8 for a Bud. Gotta love that.

I just don't think people will be lining up for $4 Faithful Ale...

    Update to the story:
As previously reported, Kid Rock is planning a tour and trying to keep ticket prices at $20. He hasn't been completely successful, however, because of ticketing fees and states that have outlawed paperless ticketing. Guess who is to blame:

"That's one of the times I'm f--king embarrassed to be a Republican," Rock said. "It's f--king Republican lawmakers passing those laws, you dumbasses. They already did it in New York and they're trying to do it in Michigan. I've even called some of those guys to try and stop it."

But the musician's rage wasn't only directed at Republican legislators. "They're taking a f--king five-dollar service charge," he said of concert retailer Ticketmaster. "It's 25 percent of the f--king ticket! That's f--ked up, but I've beaten them up as much as I can. Then Walmart stepped in and agreed to charge just $20, and it includes parking."

He's also putting up tickets on sites like StubHub in an effort to combat scalping. Rock, who said that all musicians "have huge f--king egos," cited overpriced ticketing on tours by artists like The Rolling Stones as a big problem for the music industry: "The Rolling Stones are charging $650 per ticket! That just makes me speechless. I love the Stones, but I won't be attending."

Rock and Sean Penn made a somewhat curious PSA during the election. A plea for bi-partisan cooperation and friendship, the video featured liberal Penn and conservative Rock hurling slurs at each other before eventually coming together.

Widely mocked in the music community for coming out as a Romney supporter, Rock now says he's more of a Libertarian and "isn't in bed with anybody." Not that he's one to hold a grudge: When the singer ran into Obama at a post-election event, he told the president that there were "no hard feelings." C'est la vie, in other words.

PJ please think about this if Kid Rock paid me 20$ to go.. I would spend it on ear plugs and PJ vinyl.

He is from Detroit and has recently woken up, but that doesn't mean I like the music. Getting Wal- Mart involved? I've known that dudes history for awhile. He might as well get Dennis Rodman to do an opening act.

He refused to put his music on itunes and other digital media for the longest time. Forcing independent DJ's to buy the entire album to please their clients. That is sticking it to the man. I can go on

20 bucks a ticket to see Kid Rock? IMO, that's still WAY too expensive to see him perform.

I agree that $20 tickets are a great concept however the reality is your still dealing with ticketmaster
and they are going to get their money one way or another.

I looked into buying tix to the Kid Rock Tampa show after they had already gone onsale and what I
found was that ticketmaster had a bunch of the orchestra pit tickets for sale as Platinum tickets
(ticketmasters version of scalping) for around $200 each) So they held back the best seats to sell
at a huge premium and sold the mediocre seats for $20.

If PJ did try this there is no way that ticketmaster would let them sell the fan club tix for $20
since they are typically the best seats in the house.

Big difference is Kid Rock is one guy...PJ is 5 guys.. Kid rock will probably make more money off the 20 dollar tix than Ed makes with PJ prices..
