I have been listening to Silverchair loads again recently. Diorama is sounding as good as ever and I still enjoy Frogstomp, Freak Show and Neon Ballroom. I still cannot get into Young Modern though. It's really not very good :?

"Young Modern" is absolutely incredible. It's a shame the band broke up or took a hiatus or whatever after it.

One of my fav bands of all time. Diorama is a masterpiece. Miss them so much.

YM is a great record. The early records have stood the test of time IMO, especially Diorama. I liked the new direction on YM - so cool to see music evolve.

Remember when they won that Triple J contest with 'Tomorrow' at the ages of 14? And when Courtney Love chased Daniel around the BDO telling him he looked like a little Kurt? Awesome memories of the Diorama Tour outdoors at Belvoir Ampitheatre - thunder and lightning storm, driving rain - none of us were leaving. A bemused Daniel telling the crowd that we were crazy, and the only band he'd do that for was Grinspoon

Since Young Modern came out I have been trying to get into it, but I haven't managed to so far.

'If You Keep Losing Sleep' is one song I really can't get my head around.

im in the same camp as the YM wasnt so great, but loved their other stuff.

shame they gave it up too early, but they didnt seem interested in being a band, and seemed embarrassed by Frogstomp

when they were in manchester last Daniel started Tomorrow and played a line and then said something like 'yeah, as it'...

was a shame but a great show regardless in a tiny ballroom

Hear: 360 coaxes Silverchair's Daniel Johns out of hibernation

Silverchair front man Daniel Johns has been coaxed out of hibernation to feature on 360's next record.

The rapper broke the news to fans in classic 60 fashion; at the end of a homemade video that was mostly made up of a prank call on a unsuspecting telemarketer.

But at the 1 minute mark he announced his album was "coming and moving quickly".

"It is already 10 times better than the last album," he wrote before teasing a snippet of a track that features "one of australias best singers and songwriters."

"Their name reminds me of "golden table".

You can part of the track, called 'Impossible', over here. That video also comes with a big language warning.

In amongst a hectic tour schedule and a couple of mixtapes, 360 has been busy working on a follow up to his breakthrough second album Falling & Flying. It's expected to be released before the end of the year.

Since "going into hibernation" in 2011, Silverchair front man Daniel Johns has remained mostly musically dormant. In March, he made a rare onstage appearance with Kimbra in Adelaide in as part of a retrospective for composer Van Dyke Parks.

I've been giving Young Modern a few spins of late.

Straight Lines is still probably my favourite tune on there. It's not a patch on any of their other albums though.

1 - Diorama
2 - Freak Show
3 - Neon Ballroom
4 - Frogstomp
5 - Young Modern

That's probably my order, but NB and FS are close.

Young Modern has a couple of good tracks...Mind Reader is probably my fav. Incredible band, but Paul Mac's involvement on YM ruined it I think.

If you havent seen/heard Live From Faraway Stables, you're missing out. Was really luck to see the band live many times and am excited to see what Daniel works on next, hopefully soon.
