    The prints have been so so lately. The EV ones have been good. The rest, not so much. I've defiantly been saving money.

    Posters are still popular enough

    Posters are still popular, but they ebb and flow with the band's tours. Usually leading up to one and during one, you find people less likely to buy prints -- they want to hold onto money for new stuff. After the tour, there seems to be a rekindled interest in posters in general, and the market rises again, for a short time.

    It's funny to be how years ago we were all dying for other artists to do Pearl Jam prints, feeling Ames had too much (read: all) of the pie. Now that so many artists do prints, there's less cohesion and more ridicule for many of their show posters.

    I know I have some good classic prints. ;)

    I can't afford to get them framed, and no frame = no poster.

    It's not hard to frame something. I learned how in some Photography classes. It's really about the materials.

    If you know some one that works at store with a framing section. They will do it for ten bucks...

    Hmmm.. I could totally work framing stuff all day. that pine one I have is something that needs a good outfit. I want to hang it as soon as I can.

    As for posters I've been known to use thumbtacks or duct tape. I have this really old poster. It's rare. It has so many holes. I only have three things framed. Chuck Palahniuk and Anthony Bordain making sock puppets.
    A painting I bought at a comic shop I loved. And a picture from my first Pearl jam show.I have so many posters and not enough blend with my stuff. I need a PJ room. :lol:

    You've never seen me on the vinyl threads?? I'm on all of them all the time! :lol: I love my collection, so yes, it's good. :)
    I have 3 posters - 2 EV, and 1 signed RNDM limited edition. All still in the tubes unfortunately. Spending all my $$ on vinyl and Wrigley.

    my wrigley money I spent on vinyl goods in the shop, Weezer and Taking Back Sunday wax.

    Jimmy Eat World Got a big chunk too. If I ended up in Chicago I would go check out the Threadless store first.

    And with those 5 dollar bins I keep hearing about... It would cost me almost 2k to go to Wrigley. I can't spend what I lack.

    I don't trust myself so I would rather shell out a few hundred to make sure that thing lasts for eternity.

    Tell me about it. I have been trying to sell many posters, amonget other things to help with saving for a house, but not much luck viewtopic.php?f=20&t=205687 I thought I would sell them all within a few weeks but only sold about 1/3 of them. All prices are on par with expressobeans average.

    Think posters will always be popular to a degree. But the demand going down is based on a combination of things. Maybe someone here can confirm, but I think the runs have increased significantly. So posters are readily available. Increased quanties with the art being subpar doesn't help. If an artist does create an awesome poster, he charges more for an AP so flipping is more difficult.

    My problem is there's too many posters I want to frame. And how many PJ posters on the wall is too much? :lol: (many here will probably diagree with that and say there can never be too much but I already have 8 PJ and 2 EVs in a frame). And how many pearl jam posters can you choose to store in a portfolio? I've really cut back in recent years that if I won't frame it, I won't chase it.

    The general trend over at EB is a huge movement towards movie posters and art prints (or OGs). Gig posters are a thing of the past.

    A highly regarded 10C member once told me that posters were a "dying market" and vinyl was where its at...well I think he was right.

    I have turned my collecting more towards vinyl and away from posters. There are a couple I would still pay big bucks for ...(Hess '94 and Knoxville '98), but with the runs being so large now..I can get a poster pretty much any time.

    Not a dying market, just over saturated. People are buying posters to collect and preserve them. Prior to 03' people bought posters to hang them on their dorm wall and promoters made handbills to staple to telephone polls.

    It's the exact same issue with baseball cards in the late 80's/early 90's.

    A dying market would be simular to Beanie Babies where there's no interest in buying or selling.
