Mirage Rock is not bad, but for now it's my least favorite of their albums. All of their albums are good, but i prefer their first two albums over their last two.
For anyone whose not seen them live, I suggest doing whatever you can to see them. You will not be disappointed.

Agree 100% with this. I love their first 2 albums, their 3rd is decent, and Mirage Rock hasn't really struck me yet. However I saw them at Deluna Fest and thought they were great. I much rather prefer them live than I do listening to most of their studio stuff. I'll go see them live anytime they come through Dallas despite their last 2 albums not being all that awesome to me.

Damn, they killed it in Portland @ The State Theatre. The majority of the place was on its feet the whole time, which I think caught the band off guard because they had never played Maine before. Ben even commented on it multiple times. I don't think many bands realize how passionate the fans are up in Maine, but we appreciate any band willing to make the 2 hour trek north of Boston and the energy level at shows is usually out of control. Great live show, band sounded amazing. Definitely worth every penny!

GREAT show in Portland Saturday night. You could tell the band was really feeling it. I saw them in Montreal and Boston as well, and Portland was by far the best. I'm not sure what happened in Boston, Ben was having technical problems all night, and they ended up cutting the show by about 25 minutes. Only played one encore song.

The Ryman is great. I saw Wilco there in 08 and the venue is just amazing.

I'll be seeing my fourth BOH's show at the Shaky Knees Fest here in ATL in a few weeks and can't wait.

Better Dan and I are heading to Austin next week to see them at Stubb's. Can't wait!
  • Was in Vegas this weekend and caught last nights show. Cosmo was a great venue. The crowd was a very strange mix, but the band was very good. I really enjoyed seeing them headline a show for the first time. The tunes played off Cease to Begin were highlights for me.

After the show, I met some friends for drinks. When I was leaving the Cosmo hotel, I had a chance encounter with Ben. He was stoked that anyone would remember he did hunger strike with Eddie! Good times!

That's awesome! I would have said the same thing to Ben about doing Hunger Strike at the Garden.

Saw some pics on the BoH facebook page from that show...looked like a really cool place to see a show.

Fun show in Austin last night. Surprised that they didn't play much from the new album though.

Just got home from Night 1 at The Ryman...
Band of Horses BLEW IT UP!!!
They kicked off the night with a 45 minute acoustic set that included GREAT versions of "No One Is Gonna Love You" "Marry Song" "The Funeral" & "Weed Party"

    1d7d09c2-1795-48a3-b42c-4d3cc89277c1_zpsc67243cb.jpg

Then after a brief intermission, we got an entire Electric set PLUS Encore too!!

    N1ELE_zps1f39e4b6.jpg

The highlight of the show for me was an AMAZING performance of "Slow Cruel Hand Of Time" during the acoustic set!!
They even teased us and said they have more SURPRISES ready for tomorrow night :ugeek:

DerbyDave, the show last night was sick. So So Good. They sounded amazing at the Ryman. Looking forward to the show tonight.
  • Tonight's show was cancelled because the band was in Oxford, MS but the equipment wound up in Oxford, NC. That's annoying but also kinda funny.

    Night 2 was UNBELIEVABLE!!!

It seemed like they put a bit more thought into the acoustic set tonight & boy did they SHINE!!!

Ben opening with a solo performance of "ST. AUGUSTINE" was BRILLIANT!!!
Ryan, Tyler & Ben closed out the acoustic set with an acapella version of "NEIGHBOR", that was possibly the BEST performance of the night!!
We got 2 versions of "NO ONE'S GONNA LOVE YOU" tonight & they were both OUTSTANDING!!!

I'm so glad I decided to stay for BOTH shows...Night 2 has a slight edge for me, but may be because I had better seats !!! :ugeek:

Didn't go Saturday, but loved the Sunday show..Only bad thing is it wasn't long enough, haha. Wanted a second encore, but it was great.

Saw the Saturday night show at the Ryman. They absolutely crushed it!!!!!!! What a freakin show! That was my 6th or 7th time I've seen them. The Ryman show ranks #1 in my book! If ya get a chance to catch em live, DO IT!
