I listened to it today, not bad, def. not their best but might be a grower. Still think their first single is the best song off the album, Knock Knock. Also dug the title track, Mirage Rock, on the bonus tracks.

would anyone in the US be willing to purchase the itunes live EP that was just released for me please? Its not available in Australia.... I can paypal the $5.99 or whatever it is?
I listened to it today, not bad, def. not their best but might be a grower. Still think their first single is the best song off the album, Knock Knock. Also dug the title track, Mirage Rock, on the bonus tracks.
Totally agree with this 100% ^^^^
I have seen them twice, this band kicks ass live. The 2nd time was in May 2010 @ the Garden when they opened for PJ...awesome, awesome show. I am a HUGE fan of Cease to Begin and really dig 98% of Everything All The Time...while I like Infinite Arms, its not the Band of Horses that I really dug back on C2B...
I've given this Mirage Rock a bunch of spins - properly (car & head phones) - and its so uninspiring to me. (Just my opinion)...songs like "Dumpster World" and "Shut In Tourist" make me miss why I loved this band in the first place.
Again, IMO, this is their weakest effort by far. I love them live, will go to any show locally, be psyched if they open for PJ, MMJ, etc... but man am I disappointed in Mirage Rock. Now that Mumford's Babel is out, I don't see myself even reaching for Mirage Rock, and that's sad to me. I warped Cease to Begin and long to see them get back to that sound and song-writing. Again, just my opinion, but this is NOT a horrible album by any stretch, I personally expected way more.

Pretty much exactly my thoughts!! Finally just taking a listen now and easily the weakest BoH album for me, but also something I could see growing on me. A bit disappointing off the bat for now, but that could change! Can't wait to see BoH on Saturday!

Seeing them tonight ..... Seeing them on tour with Pearl Jam in 2010 was so special and because of that Band of Horses are like home to me now for some reason....Just love em!
If anyone is close enough and interested, I have an extra ticket to see Band of Horses in Bloomington, IN this Thursday night at a very small venue. Should be a very cool show, one of our people had to back out.
Mirage Rock is not bad, but for now it's my least favorite of their albums. All of their albums are good, but i prefer their first two albums over their last two.
For anyone whose not seen them live, I suggest doing whatever you can to see them. You will not be disappointed.

They're playing here in January & I wasn't sure whether to stretch the ticket budget a little further but your now the 4th, or maybe 5th person who's told me not to miss them(or along those lines). Hmmm....

Saw them in Michigan this past Monday and they were solid as always....set was on the shorter side (90 minutes) but decent mix of old and new...the crowd blew, I was 3rd row and people stayed in their seats for the majority of the show...about halfway in, I said screw this and walked up to the stage to which Ben responded, "Where were you 20 songs ago?" Beautiful theater, great band, very strange vibe...

I saw them last week at a very tiny bar, not the best acoustics, but the band was great, you could tell they were really enjoying themselves. I would love to see them again, someplace with better sound quality.

Agree 100% with this. I love their first 2 albums, their 3rd is decent, and Mirage Rock hasn't really struck me yet. However I saw them at Deluna Fest and thought they were great. I much rather prefer them live than I do listening to most of their studio stuff. I'll go see them live anytime they come through Dallas despite their last 2 albums not being all that awesome to me.
Damn, they killed it in Portland @ The State Theatre. The majority of the place was on its feet the whole time, which I think caught the band off guard because they had never played Maine before. Ben even commented on it multiple times. I don't think many bands realize how passionate the fans are up in Maine, but we appreciate any band willing to make the 2 hour trek north of Boston and the energy level at shows is usually out of control. Great live show, band sounded amazing. Definitely worth every penny!

GREAT show in Portland Saturday night. You could tell the band was really feeling it. I saw them in Montreal and Boston as well, and Portland was by far the best. I'm not sure what happened in Boston, Ben was having technical problems all night, and they ended up cutting the show by about 25 minutes. Only played one encore song.

Was in Vegas this weekend and caught last nights show. Cosmo was a great venue. The crowd was a very strange mix, but the band was very good. I really enjoyed seeing them headline a show for the first time. The tunes played off Cease to Begin were highlights for me.
After the show, I met some friends for drinks. When I was leaving the Cosmo hotel, I had a chance encounter with Ben. He was stoked that anyone would remember he did hunger strike with Eddie! Good times!
