    i have seen you take issue with abortion and gay rights, and you are pro gun. these are all right leaning positions on social issues.
    pro choice and pro gay marriage since young adulthood....

    "take issue" in that I understand others of an oposing view... guilty as charged.
    I don't have to agree with someone to understand why they feel as they do
    and I do not demonize because they do.

    of course there is... it's pointing to gun control. Making those in favor look as ridiculous
    as asking to ban everyday products, which can be used as tools of destruction as well.
    We knew this was coming but what about my questions about freedom of speech?
    A clear and present danger to go to bomb making 101 on the internet.

    I get his point. The funny thing was, a few days ago when the bombing happened, I wondered who it would be to come on here and start this thread, and if they would do it in a manner that elicited a discussion, or if it would be done out of "i told you so" sarcasm.

    Just a note that a gun or guns were also used to take an innocent life in this Boston tragedy.

    "An officer with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology police, Sean Collier, 26, was identified as the victim of a shooting at the university amid a manhunt for the Boston bombing suspects."

    In my experience, people who want gun control just want to try to save lives and not infringe on "rights and freedoms". I'm not sure why anyone would consider that ridiculous.

    actually if pressure cookers killed that many people a year they wouldn't just be under heavy scrutiny, they would be illegal and the manufacturers would probably be in jail.

    I think it does the anti-gun control crowd a disservice when ridiculous analogies are made on their behalf. I have probably been guilty of it in the past, but there are better ways to have the discussion.
