    I must be missing something
the right is in favor of bringing it back because of their being butthurt about "liberal media bias".

guys like rush and fox do not support it because they would have to present opposing views.

social issues I lean left, government philosophy right and ride with the Independents.

I wasn't calling your thread out but I'm sure we could individual posts made there.
what social issues do you lean left on?

i have seen you take issue with abortion and gay rights, and you are pro gun. these are all right leaning positions on social issues.
pro choice and pro gay marriage since young adulthood....

"take issue" in that I understand others of an oposing view... guilty as charged.

of course there is... it's pointing to gun control. Making those in favor look as ridiculous
as asking to ban everyday products, which can be used as tools of destruction as well.
We knew this was coming but what about my questions about freedom of speech?

Oh ok, I guess we don't have enough gun threads already.
The only thing that looks ridiculous here is the OP and those defending the OP.

I am disappointed no freedom of speech chit chat, guess no one wants to touch that amendment,
even when a clear and present danger...
    probably cause they use it.

There's a thing called couth. or tact. and the OP's post had neither.
I get his point. The funny thing was, a few days ago when the bombing happened, I wondered who it would be to come on here and start this thread, and if they would do it in a manner that elicited a discussion, or if it would be done out of "i told you so" sarcasm.

    And here's the best answer:

Just a note that a gun or guns were also used to take an innocent life in this Boston tragedy.

"An officer with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology police, Sean Collier, 26, was identified as the victim of a shooting at the university amid a manhunt for the Boston bombing suspects."

In my experience, people who want gun control just want to try to save lives and not infringe on "rights and freedoms". I'm not sure why anyone would consider that ridiculous.

Why dont you stick around and have regular discussion on the variety of topics, rather than show up when you want to gloat about something?

actually if pressure cookers killed that many people a year they wouldn't just be under heavy scrutiny, they would be illegal and the manufacturers would probably be in jail.

I think it does the anti-gun control crowd a disservice when ridiculous analogies are made on their behalf. I have probably been guilty of it in the past, but there are better ways to have the discussion.
