Yea X does nothing for me....we need some new flavor like the MMJ, Black Keys, Band of Horses openers.
I doubt Gaslight would open though, they are getting really big recently. I'd absolutely love if they did some dates but I'm not counting on it. Japandroids would be cool'08- Camden 1-2 '09- Chicago 2; Spectrum 1-4

I really hope not. Love the Gaslight and want a headline tour where I can see them in full effect, not an opening slot0

it will be X so we can hear that damn 'new world' song yet again (rolls eyes).I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell.

Agree with everything in this post other than the notion that Gaslight or their management team would turn down an opening gig for PJ. A SOLAT collaboration at every show would gain them thousands of fans a night!
Japandroids would be outrageous! The Ten Club would have no idea what hit them!9.29.96, 8.28.98, 9.1.00, 7.5.03, 9.30.05, 6.1.06, 6.19.08, 6.20.08, 6.24.08, 10.27.09, 10.28.09, 10.30.09, 5.20.10, 9.3.11, 9.4.11, 9.2.12, 7.19.13...

Yea man.... If you look at most openers over the last decade it's almost like this slot propelled them to the next level. By that rationale I think Japandroids would be perfect. They are getting big now but if they did this... I think it would strike a chord w the long time 10clubbers and get a similarity w them and how intense the old PJ shows used to be. From what I've heard that is, since I'm not an old timer ha.'08- Camden 1-2 '09- Chicago 2; Spectrum 1-4

Fallon is a HUGE Pearl Jam and Ed fan. Zero chance he turns down that opportunity.
Gaslight is getting bigger yes, but the aren't any bigger than Kings Of Leon was when they opened for PJ in 2006 and 2008. Same for My Morning Jacket. They are still playing pretty small places.
There's the Brendan O'Brien connection and the DeLuna appearance also to consider.
I would also love to see Japandroids.
That being said it will be X if you ask me.0 -
I'd like to see TGA open just to mix things up and get some new blood. Seems recently X and Mudhoney have just become the go to openers. It was fun seeing up and coming bands open for PJ.
Also, if X is opening all the fall dates, I would have thought they would be part of Voodoo. Unless they are added at a later date....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -
The Japandroids would be saweet!0

I would prefer a different band. I saw these guys live for the first time last month and it felt like they were playing the same song over and over again.0

I'm not a fan of this new Gaslight Anthem Style of Punk. I would love to see Pearl Jam take the Descendents out on tour but that will never happen. Milo works for DuPont as a scientist... so the band can only play one-off weekend shows.
However, Pearl Jam could take one of these bands on tour: ALL, Bad Religion, Face to Face, Queens of the Stone Age, Dinosaur Jr., The Breeders, Crosses †††, Noiseheads, Sebadoh or Black Francis.
I just cant stand this hipster/indie/college rock/pop stuff that has become so popular as of late. You know, 95% of the bands on the Coachella, Outside Lands and Lollapalooza line-ups. I'm hoping for a kick ass opener later this year.2010: Mountain View, CA (10/23)
2011: East Troy, WI (9/3-9/4)
2012: Missoula, MT (09/30) - San Francisco, CA (10/03)
2013: Chicago, Ill (07/19) - Los Angeles (11/23 - 11/24) - Oakland (11/26) - Portland (11/29) - Spokane (11/30) - Seattle (12/06)0 -

Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.0
