Well, I've been here for a while, but was obviously saving my first post for my first show's review.
The band was absolutely awesome, and the sound was amazing!
I couldn't really enjoy the first 3 songs, though, because the crowd was really wild, pushing and pulling all the time, and I could barely move, but thankfully they soon seemed to settle down, and we could all just have fun, and jump and sing happily for the rest of the show.
I absolutelly loved the mix of songs, and the crowd singing, and the fact that the guys looked so happy.
We got some surprises from Ten, and Not for You, which was stunning. And SONIC REDUCER!!!!
Oh, and the It's Ok tag in Spanish... I didn't think I would get to hear it, especially when they had just done it in Argentina.
I loved that we also got to sing Mike's Happy Birthday, and some guys in the front could even taste a bit of the cake that Jeff smashed on Mike's head. It was hilarious!
Of course, Present Tense after that was just the icing on the (smashed) cake!
It's hard to express this in words, but all the great music, along with Ed's words and the band-crowd energy made up for a very very special night for all of us, for sure.
For me, it was healing, and precious, and overwhelming, since I couldn't make to the previous show in 2011 and felt some kind of vacuum ever since, like I was lacking something. Well, now I know what it was, and I'm so, so thrilled to have it
Thank you, PJ, for this, and for always making me wanna be a better person!0 -

I was up close for Queens of the Stone Age and tried to hustle over to try to not be in the back, but it was impossible. It was crushing and constricting, I agree. I ended up in the back, but I enjoyed watching 70,000 fans AND Pearl Jam.
There is no doubt who people came to see. Yea, they liked The Hives, and they REALLY liked QOTSA, but this was a Pearl Jam crowd. T hough I watched the show with a Chilean woman who wasn't a big fan, she came with her friend who wanted to be down low and it was too much for her. We struggled to communicate with my inability to speak much spanish and her inability to speak much english. Thank god for google translate.
Making new friends through music, another reason to travel to see the boys.
Was a great show, you really can't say enough about Mike. Never seen him better.San Jose 10/93, San Francisco 6/95, San Jose 11/95, St Louis 4/03, Columbus 5/10, MSGII 5/21/2010, Alpine Valley 09/03/2011 and 09/04/20110 -
