my work is going to shit all round atm - manager has had some sort of meltdown powertrip and at last count made the best two community nurses on site resign, no support from higher up, none of the decent nurses want to stay anymore, everyone bitches about everyone else, no-one knows what is going on - and two many nurses that have worked there their entire lives (ie 40 years or more) and think that i do nothing but answer the phone. thats all. i dont file, i dont run reports for nsw health, i dont look up records for them, i dont tidy up all their stuffed up data entry for them, i dont fix all the pc problems for them, i dont make appointments for all the clinics for them, i dont book cars for them, i dont bank, i dont hire equipment, i dont check doctors accounts, i dont chase up pay problems (including my own - no leave entitlements given to me since dec 30th ??) - and on top of that get they sulks when i point out im a little too busy to make them a card because they dont want to spend $10 on buying one.
...
*sigh*
its just been one of those days for me. i need a holiday ... we are going to kiama for a few days in march, but untill then i just have to smile sweetly and put up withit.
now - they said tuesday ... it's that festival in america i know, but some album news might be nice.impatience is a gift ........0 -

There's nothing worse than working somewhere you're not happy.....can effect your whole life.
Keep the holiday next month in your thoughts.
Pour yourself a nice wine (or something) and try to enjoy the evening -AWAY from work0 -

i dont really hate it - its generally a good job, its just full of old women that think because they've worked there their whole lives they know everything there is to know. they dont realise that there is a world outside the town limits, and what they think they know doesnt count for all that much in the grand scheme.
but the management side is getting a bit scarey. especially since all the smart, clever staffers are shaking their heads and thinking about jumping ship.
and to top it all off im starting to get the good old itchy foot syndrome happenening again, which is why i asked about coffs harbour a week or so ago. i think i just need a bomb dropped on me or something... the sooner pearl jam get their butts back here the betterimpatience is a gift ........0 -

oh see i just dont let them get away with things either - if they dont fill in a ed sheet properly, ill send it back tagged to the person who signed it and tell them to complete it properly please. if stuff doesnt get entered into the database at night, i send it back with a note saying do it. they think im a bossy little bitch i think. too bad :rolleyes:impatience is a gift ........0 -

Thats my problem, i let them get away with things, i just smile and nod my head, then just walk away... there is no point in getting into a little tiff with them when you know your right..0 -

yea, the frustrating thing is im perfectly reasonable - if theres something big on, ill sit down with the family and ring people for them, or run and grab files, or even do the paperwork like a ward clerk would, even tho thats not my job.
its just the lazy ones who dont bother with things because they couldnt be bothered. we have one rn who religiously leaves paperwork so undone its crazy - no address, no medicare, no next of kin, no allergies, and not even any treatment apart from the presenting reason. doesnt even bother with the time the patient left. if that patient turned into a little child who went on to develop something serious or represent at another hospital and have complications, or god forbid die like one of those poor little meningococcal kids, the ombudsman would be down on us like a ton of bricks.
when i point these things out, they just rave on about 'oh paperwork, paperwork, its all paperwork ... when i was nursing years ago blah blah blah.....'
anyway, in the meantime, i just stay bossy - no doubt they all bitch about me like crazy behind my back, but oh wellimpatience is a gift ........0 -
Sorry to hear about your day and the ppl that u are working with...
It must be so frustrating for u.........
What is it with ppl like that anyway.......They need to think outside of the square and stop thinking they know it all...Just because thats how things were done 40yrs ago doesnt mean its still the right way....
I hope things brighten up....:)0 -
