Gibson LP Studio Deluxe

I've got a guy wanting to trade a fender blacktop jazzmaster and Gibson Studio Deluxe with EMG's for my 52 RI Tele. Opinions?

    this is a tough one for me.

    what kind of music do you play? do you ever see yourself playing music that would warrant emgs?

    I wouldn't give a up a custom shop guitar for 5 factory run models, let alone 2, especially an MIM Fender and low level Gibson. Now those can be fine guitars, but you're talking a whole different level of instrument.

    No effin' way man.

    I would never part with my 52 Tele.

    But, I'm a Fender guy myself. But for me personally, that's a very one sided deal. I'd hold on to the tele.

    From a money point of view it doesn't seem close.

    Cool.Thanks for the input. I play heavier stuff most of the time, post-hardcore/metal/punk whatever. So my Tele doesn't get as much love as it should but at the same time when i wanna get out some chill/folky/bluegrassy shit it never disappoints so i'll probably hold onto it.

    If it was a Tele for a Les Paul Standard, or an AVRI Jazzmaster, I'd consider it, but this just seems too uneven.

    with Gibson hardware and SeymourDuncans. Tempting...

    If you want to go with the Gibson thing, thats up to you. I'd be tempted to stick with the Telecaster, great great instrument for 2 good ones is what the trade seems like. I never bonded with my Sheraton (even after putting in Duncans) so I sold it to my brother who happens to love it.
