    I say move the damn thing.
    You go out back on your brand new deck on a beautiful Saturday evening. You fire up the grill, crack open a few beers, kick back and relax when all of a sudden that damn A/C fires up blowing hot air all over the place!

    No my idea of fun/relaxing!

    You could pour a new slab pretty easily and cheaply on your own. Then have a guy come and move the unit and re-wire the thing. I'd say it would cost a total (including the cement) of $750.

    I had a new AC unit installed 2 years ago. They didn't pour a slab, but used this http://www.hvacpartsource.com/DiversiTe ... s/2265.htm instead with fine sand underneath it for leveling. Carried it out on the truck.

    I'm good at telling people what to do. Granted, I've never built a deck, but how hard can it be?

    I hear ya. But paying $750 to move what is probably a 10 year old unit VS. paying twice as much for a new unit? To me it would make more sense to get a new unit, and have it installed EXACTLY where I want it. Right?

    Damn, I wish I could build around this thing, yet not make the deck look Hillbillyish! :lol::lol:
