@AdamSchefterSaints do not plan to use their franchise tag on starting left tackle Jermon Bushrod. He will be an unrestricted free agent.
Bears need to go after this guy big time.
That would be awesome, but it's the Bears....so....
True. But, this is a new era for the Bears. I never in my life thought we would have a WR like Marshall. But they went out and got him and drafted Jeffrey last year. Hopefully this year no more fucking around and go and pay a LT.

read anouther mock draft, post combine, with Teo being the bears selection.
Webb arrested for drug possession.
Hmmm....
Maybe he's high during games? :? Would explain a lot!
"J'Marcus, why aren't you protecting the quarterback?"
"Oh, hey man....I'm supposed to do what now?"

Yeah, but still!
Too bad he wasn't charged and the Bears dropped his ass! That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the headline. I was like "OH YES!"
Three years ago today, #Bears signed Julius Peppers. Bears are 29-19 with him, allowing just 18.8 ppg over the last three seasons.
That was a damn good signing. Henry Melton should thank Peppers for getting that franchise tag and guaranteed $8.5M next season. He has had a lot of 1 on 1 battles thanks to Peppers being double-teamed a lot.

HenMel is overrated IMO. I hope they didnt franchise the wrong guy...

I know it would never happen as he's going to demand a sizable contract....but can you imagine Marshall and Jeffery wide with Welker in the slot? That would be sick!
As Winston Wolfe would say...... "Let's not start sucking each others dicks just yet" .... Bushrod gave up more sacks, hurries and hits than any other free agent the last two years....
Love seeing the Bears play the game at least..... Phil is doing a fine job.
Yep. He is addressing the biggest weaknesses on this team.
In other good news, Kellen Davis has been released. Good riddance.
thank God

this is true HOWEVER, the saints had 700 dropbacks last year vs 500 that the bears had. also, he was only called for 6 false start penalties. this is a VERY GOOD SIGNING!

Brad Biggs@BradBiggs
Brandon Marshall signed for 2 more years. $9.1 million base in 13 and 14 with $200K roster bonuses each year. So, club owes him $18.6 mil.
guessing that is a salary cap move. bet they do that for peppers, cutler or even melton to free up cash for next year.

Who gets cut, if they land two linemen???? You don't need to be actually under the cap until July.......
Go Emery!
The word on twitter is Martellus Bennett is signing w/ the Bears. I like it....a TE that can run AND block.
It's all over twitter the last 5 minutes. 5 year deal.
I may have to get me one of those Twitter deals....I feel so left out!
Yeah, twitter is great on days like this when there is tons of sports info coming out....

speedy would be a good signing.
I heard on the radio that he's getting paid only $1.3 million next year, for that price, I'm sure the bears will keep him as a backup...
