there was absolutely no question about it when the date was made. tickets were bought right away

i really hope they return there one day and it would be a shame if they didn't

i remember ed commenting on how small/thin the telephone book was

wintersleep opened the shows and they helped make those 2 shows so special

This show has been playing on SiriusXM this week. :)

I am glad everyone is getting a chance to appreciate these shows again, I hope the band can play more venues like St.John's or Pistoia, every show doesn't have to be 20,000+ people, some of there best shows have been venues with less than 10,000 capacity
  • met jeff within 1 hour of arriving at the hotel, attached to the venue
met stone the next day while crossing the street across from the venue/hotel, right by the restaurant
town is tiny+ so it was easy and i didn't even try!
it was a great experience. wish they would go back there again but i'm guessing it will never happen again :(
why? the whole band loved the canadian maritimes, I think in 2015 the band should do a 10 year anniversary of their 2005 tour and go across Canada again, why not?

take my word on it they wont ever get back to newfoundland and if they don't i'll buy you 10 beers at least

Jeff Ament was asked about Newfoundland in a Canadian interview a couple months ago and he said that PJ would be back for sure and that they loved it here. I know this isnt really a guarantee but it gives me some hope. I could see them playing Salmon Fest in the next couple of years. They would draw 25 000 easy for that and wouldnt have to drive all the way too St.John's for it.

they absolutely should do another Canadian Tour, 2005 was epic all kinds of awesome crowds and setlists, and Canadians have always bought Pearl Jam albums even when they weren't as popular, same reason they need to do another Aussie/NZ tour, you got to reward the fans that stick behind you

Hell, I've always wanted to go to The Rock, and if I could see PJ play TWICE....it'd be a slice of heaven - CDN style.

  • bump, cuz i listened to night one again last night,
and it's like i was never there.
just want to reiterate how fucking hard Newfies get down.
This town was a fucking blast, and so were the shows.
you can hear from the band's presence on the boots,
they were having a lot of fun too.
Only complaint: next time spend the night.
None of this "look at my watch" points the roadie, "we've got to catch the last ferry off this rock" horse shit.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

Yes, Wintersleep were a great table setter. I know it was an adventure for them. I met those guys at a gig in New York a couple years ago and they went on about what a great time it was.

If anyone has yet to discover them, please do yourself a favor.

I did climb the hill, but did not kiss the fish.
    90 shows and counting...some of my favs: Randall's Island night 2, Milwaukee '95 night 2, Hawaii '06, St Johns '05, PJ20!
