    Did you end up getting pet insurance? I've been contemplating it more and more lately, as my Boston is going to be 10 in September!

    can you even get insurance on a 10 year old dog :shock: :? ? I'll be looking into it, for sure, for our "next dog."

    I think so. The rate is probably based on age and breed. I haven't gotten insurance yet. I probably should.

    Considering the $$$ I spent at the vet last week, I wish I had it. :(

    this was zeke, he was only nine. he had a stomach tumor - i wonder if it was caused by pet food.
    if i were ever to get another dog (right now i'm thinking NO) i would only feed it organic raw food.
    i would also make sure i put away 3 grand for medical bills. i know it probably really depends on the
    situation, but i've had pet insurance in the past and it's never paid.
    did you see me? i saw you.

    awwwwww :cry::cry: . zeke was a real cutie.

    I've heard the good and the bad about pet insurance. I think some companies are way better than others. we spent $10K+ on gracie......wish we'd had insurance......but it was worth every penny :mrgreen:

    as for insurance...i pay 40 bucks a month...not sure of the coverage but i think this was one of the better policies...when norm had his knee surgery, it was $4,200...they paid roughly $1,600

    and, as with all insurance, you're still kind of getting f**ked.

    if little normie lives to be 14 (and I'll bet he does), you will have paid in $6720. will they pay that much back to you?

    insurance = :x

    As for insurance... its one of those things you wish you had when you need it, and wonder why you bother to pay for it when you dont. odds are you'll never fully get back what you put in, and in these times... who can afford any unnecessary expense? I really do believe that one of the best things you can do for your dog preventative-wise is feed them good food and keep them active and at a healthy weight. Be smart, read labels & stay away from any food that has bi-products in it. My dog is so much healthier than any other dog in my family... and they're all fairly close in age. Only difference is that all the other dogs eat what the vets push on you... and those are not always the best options.
