Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard did an interview on Italian radio yesterday and revealed the following about Pearl Jam’s 10th studio album, “I cannot tell you an exact date, but if all goes according to plan, we will have a new Pearl Jam album in nine or twelve months.” We are currently in February 2013, so Gossard seems to be indicating a November 2013- February 2014 release for the new album. Pearl Jam have only released two albums in the last decade: 2006′s Pearl Jam and 2009′s Backspacer.

I'm not sure if they would/could do a full scale Fall US tour without a new album; I'm still hoping they will drop a new album before summer and take everone "by surprise".

I like the idea of an extended hiatus and slower recording period, but shit, they said 12 months, 12 months ago.
    Come to send, not condescend...

Each member has been giving a different philosophy / take when they expect the record will be release. Dear reporters, just stop asking them the same freaking question. It'll be ready when it's ready. They must be sick & tired everyday getting the same old question over & over. If I was them I would just mess with the people & say NEVER!!!

Would welcome a new album like right now but if we have to wait a year so be (we have no other choice :lol::lol::lol: )

I heard one interview Stone did last week in the UK and the DJ didn't ask him about the next Pearl Jam record. I was very surprised :lol::lol:

Well they sold out Wrigley & London in a few minutes with no record. They could do a full blown East Coast tour & sell out in a few minutes. Believe me this!

I'm hoping to for some new music.

Yeah, this sucks...I know how much it bothered Jeff while touring with RNDM. I don't see Stone caring as much as Jeff, but I sure it's irritating.

    It's pretty disrespectful, really :?

  • The best tours are the ones bands do without an album to promote.

I'd love a new album, but that's not the most important thing to me.

I'm guessing the thirst for a new album is the expectation of a bigger tour. Which is probably correct. I'm more interested in the tour than them rushing an album out.

Quite frankly, I'd prefer the AV Weekend Blu Ray/Boot/Other Bands Sample/Book Super Duper Deluxe comes out and they tour off that and take their time coming up with something truly "new" for the next album.

Seems silly, but how many bands have toured off box sets before? Happens all the time.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

And they have not done a full scale US tour since 2003. They will have no problem with the 10-12 US dates this fall, considering 8 of those will probably be San Diego, LA, San Fran, and Seattle.
