what are your thoughts on snow tires?

I'm neutral. If you live in Alaska, maybe.

What's your opinion on Rake Vs. Leaf Blower?

i prefer to let nature run it's natural course

but if you have to do something with the leaves, it depends on teh size of the lot and number of tree's. my lot/tree ratio is of a rake variety.

what is your stance on gas vs. reel mowers

I also have a yard of the rake variety.
I thought gas powered was the "real kind."
I have used both. I prefer a gas powered because I believe it offers a more manicured look. I am putting serious consideration into a cordless /gas free manual mower.

have you considered purchasing a snow blower?

not only does it prevent heart attacks....it's some of the most fun you can have while doing chores around the house

If you are in danger of having a heart attack from shoveling snow, you might want to invest in a gym membership instead of spending your money on a snowblower. You can use the savings from your less expensive shovel.
Snowstorms are my "free" workout. . I'm not paying $50/month for a gym membership.

excellent. luckily it was less than an inch and a dry snow, blew right off. won't work with what is forecast for tomorrow - rain followed by heavy wet snow - going to need to get out the heavy equipment for that - my sons

I'm waiting for the day when my kid is old enough to do the shoveling so I can sit inside and then come out and criticize his work at the end like my Dad used to do when I was a teenager.

Massachusetts governor has ordered a driving ban.

Starting at 4 p.m. If you're nonessential (e.g. public safety, snow removal, utility, hospital worker) you can be fined and/or arrested if you're caught on the roads.

    Shit's gettin' real.

One thing I dearly miss about Boston ... a huge winter storm, snow piling up, hanging with friends and/or family with nothing to do but stay in and drink ... blasting tunes and laughing as the snow falls all night ... the look of all that untouched snow in the streetlights ... ahhhh, memories.

    ...

    ...

    ...

One thing I don't miss about Boston ... the absolute clusterfuck said storm creates for the following two weeks.
