absolutely agree. it was a good idea in theory, but 600 people? all it takes is one good trade to get on the trusted list? it would be an enormous task to keep track, but to be worth anything a feedback rating needs to be done. otherwise it's useless. even a shoddy dealer has had at least one bad transaction. that's how they sucker people!Gimli 1993

Wow, that's really shitty, you guys. I guess I might be in the minority in this regard, but I would just walk away. Chalk it up to life's lesson and now you know this person's true colours and you know to never trust them again. I have no interest in wasting emotional energy on situations like these (I have my family to occupy that space in my life thank you very much!). I'd rather be out a bunch of money than to have to go through a long drawn out process that may or may not recoup my money for me and at the end of it all either with or without the money, I know I'm still going to feel shitty because this person betrayed my trust and that's what's disappointing about this. It's not about the money (at least for me it wouldn't be that).
Hope things all work out and this person sees the thread and mans /womans up but if not, you guys are still awesome
And very cool of DURP  :thumbup:0 -

SuMay you are my voice of reasonI normally would feel exactly the same way, but now knowing this person has done this to others?
It's disappointing to say the least. And it is more about the principle than the money, absolutely. I've blown worse than $35 on things...but when they are on the good traders list and others have experienced bad deals with this person--I feel it might be time for them to face the heat.
I'm usually pretty non-confrontational, you know me, but if I don't say something to make this stop, will anyone?
I'm going to wait an ample amount of time before outing them, but I will definitely consider your words before acting
Thanks girl!!
And you are right---DURP is an amazing dudethanks again to him!!! Very thoughtful and was quite a surprise!
Makes much more sense...

Ok, just kidding.
Good luck with the decision, I know it's not going to be easy but I know it will be well thought out
PS I'm getting flashbacks of you yelling at me to go to bed when we were all giddy with excitement about the Europe tour! I'm going to bed now!0 -
This sucks. I agree that you have to pick your battles but I agree with my girl Kel. This person, whoever they are, shouldn't be allowed to cause more disappointment. Once is a mistake, twice maybe but many times? Good on ya Mike for being awesome!!!“ "Thank you Palestrina. I know you're a respected trader here Stephen and it's great that you are being your usual dignified self so request that refund for your efforts one last time before marking it down to a bad experience. The decent thing would not to be calling them out but if you see them trading here then PM the members they are trading with and warn them to be cautious and maybe then the culprit will get the message and stay away from Lost Dogs. Hope all is well with you man. Glad to see you so happy in your life. I know you deserve what you have for what you have dealt with in the past....Like a book among the many on a shelf...

the only thing i have to say is good luck..
you both are amazing human beigns,i dont need any traders list to tell me that..
the good idea is at the posts above...to buy one from the shop..
i respect you even more, that you know to keep privacy...

What's that good old Georgie quote??? "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on you....blah blah blah...it's not cool to fuck someone over PERIOD. From what I'm getting, the dudes done it before. If it takes heat to make someone realize they're fucked up, burn them. Call them out. No one else in this community should get burned by someone, especially someone IN THIS community. I recently scored a 10C hat I had lost in a move from Cali from someone in this community. Not only was Jonathan fair in the price, he sent it right away and also included a pj sticker and 10 of clubs card as a joke I guess. It's always risky buying shit online these days and if you can't trust "your own" community when trading or buying, then that's pretty fucked up and low. Good luck buddy, hope you get what's YOURS. Dude should pay up already. :fp:0

It sounds like you've been more than fair in dealing with the other party. Why leave the rest of the community exposed to other possible rip-offs? Get his/her name out there.
Sorry to hear about this situation, but very cool of the other members to step in and make sure you got the item you were originally after.0 -
one thing you can do if all you are concerned about is them not doing this to anyone else, pm the OP of the good trader's list and let him know about your situation.
he might take them off the list if they refuse to answer to the allegations.Gimli 1993

Sadly, I agree with chalking it up to a bad deal and moving on.
Worst case scenerio is you paid $40 or close to that to learn fully of someones character and level of trust. I know its hard seeing as it is a friend, but unfortunately, things will never be the same between you guys after this regardless of the outcome. There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.0 -
Have you checked with the post office?
I trade posters with a few people on here, and I was sent a poster from the MIA show. The person who sent it I had traded with a few times before, and someone I trust. When the poster was sent, they forgot to get a tracking number, but I called the post office anyway. The manager said that I should have received the poster-it had been over a month, but he would leave a note with the carrier for my route. 2 days later the poster showed up on my doorstep.
Try all avenues, you do seem to really care about the person you made the trade with.
If you still don't hear back, then I agree with SuzieMay, chalk it up to a bad experience, and don't trade with them again. At least you didn't lose hundreds or thousands of dollars. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

God - sometimes I miss George.
I don't know . . . it's a hard call. I can tell you are truly trying to do the right thing. But if you don't call them out or have them taken off the trusted trader list you are leaving others vulnerable. And to have to monitor the offender's trades yourself seems to be a bit much. I guess I would see if I could get them taken off the list. Of course, that doesn't mean everyone checks the list diligently either. :fp:And the sun it may be shining . . . but there's an ocean in my eyes0 -

Thanks Lisa, I agree with what you're saying for the most part--being fair and giving people the benefit of the doubt---especially when it's a friend. It's hard to ignore the facts-
Our post office told me I needed a tracking number in order for them to look into it....and since the person told me they had one but first- forgot at their office- then, said it was delivered but refused to supply me with the number, I have very few choices as far as conclusions to draw.
I don't think this is a case of a "bad" person, I honestly think they just are lazy and don't regard things like keeping up their end of the bargain as important. You're right though, exploring all avenues. We tried to be understanding and patient. We gave them more chances then I think most people would, and it's been met with excuses, lies and now, silence. This was really our last ditch effort.
I sent the person a link to this thread with one last request to make it right. The message was read this morning and not responded to--so, to me that signals that they don't care.
Tomorrow I plan to name them unless we get some kind of response or a payment. I hate to resort to this, but the person left me no choice.
we both really appreciate all the advice and support we have gotten here and privately. We will probably make a few people upset if we get to where we decide to post the persons identity, but at the end of the day we believe that's what's best for the community. We don't care about the poster or the money- it's the principle. We have already decided what we will do with the money if we are paid (repay Mike) or if we get the poster, it's going to someone else. We would rather warn others then let this one go.
Thanks everyone--means a lot to be validated in how we are feeling right now.Makes much more sense...

I read this whole thing, you did everything proper. It's been far too long and it seems as if the person you traded with stopped being reasonable.
This is what you do. Call them out on here, post the name of the ratfucker, so everyone else here knows who it is. Make this fucker feel shame, protect the rest of your pearl jam friends from getting fucked by this guy. Then move on, people baffle me.0
