Just wanted to pass the link along. Not sure how many will take up on the offer but it will mean less tix available for the public on sale date.

Damn, I just signed up for the newsletter after seeing your post since I live near the stadium. I think it might be too late to be included in the pre-sale. I am hoping it does not matter since I plan on being in the GA area either by my own luck or by someone looking to help me out with an extra!

Yeah I hope for that as well. Just wanted to get the word out because there may be some people who opted for only one of the 3 options and were thinking of going the public on-sale route if their first option shut them out.

Pearl Jam fans that count Wrigley Field as a neighbor can rejoice.
About 8,000 people signed up for the Cubs’ “Community Connection” e-newsletter were notified Tuesday that they will be among the first able to purchase tickets during a pre-sale Feb. 6-8 for the July 19 “An Evening with Pearl Jam” concert. Season ticket-holders are also included in the pre-sale.
Julian Green, vice president of communications for the Cubs, said the newsletter often alerts residents in the zip-codes immediately surrounding Wrigley of traffic alerts and special events, but it is also used to offer special presales.
“This is not for brokers, this is intended for people in the neighborhood that want to go to the concert,” Green said. The newsletter states that reselling of tickets is prohibited, and those who do are subject to cancellation.
The pre-sale runs from 10 a.m. Feb. 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 8, with sale to the general public beginning Feb. 9. The pre-sale is available only to residents who had already signed up for the newsletter.

A bunch of the "people in the neighborhood" are going to sell these tix, aka brokers, lol.
  • I have no idea how well they moderate that list but it is limited to certain zip codes so not just anybody is supposed to be able to sign up.

Season ticket holders also get presale? This will be a scalping situation for sure.

no different than any show at Wrigley really. There is also a STH presale at the same time as the neighborhood presale. This is nothing new, they have it for every concert at Wrigley as part of the deal to "allow" concerts...

A ton of places have presales for season-ticket or PSL holders as part of the benefit to buying season tickets.

And yes, this show will be a scalper's dream...only because the band doesn't tour much. Supply and demand.

I have this email. We get it for every show they do there, I guess because they feel bad for us dealing with all the drunk Parrotheads (Buffet), 'necks (Rascal Flatts), and ex frat boys (DMB) that infest the 'hood.

This will be the first time I take advantage though. I plan on buying my full allotment along with my 10c tix.

You forgot to generalize Elton John, The Police and Bruce fans...

The pre-sale is ONLY for those that ALREADY REGISTERED on the mailing list. if you sign up today, you will NOT get in.

This is my back-up plan in-case I dont get the lottery tix.

not always. rogers waters and mcartney stayed at a high price on the secondary market, but police tix were $25 on the street day of show. for tix that were priced at $90.

there's going to be 40k at this show. there will be tix.

and don't forget some people will simply opt for the rooftops. springsteen's shows had rooftop tix(with food and booze) for LESS than seats inside wrigley.

Just like every other presale that happens these days - chances are the tickets that are available during this (and any other presale) will be obstructed views that normally won't sell on the day tickets officially go "on sale". Ticketmaster/Live Nation/etc have learned that if you release these tickets in a "presale" people will be more likely to buy them because they are happy to score their tickets before the "general public". People believe they are the best available, when those are actually with-held for ticketmaster's secondary sales (i.e. VIPs, venue insiders, etc), with a small allotment of the great seats/tickets released with the public onsale.

Ask any "ticket broker", if he's honest (which we all know they're not), they tell you the same...

Trust me on this... I was counting my ticket stubs the other day from the last 5 years... total number is 135... most all of which I was the person that bought the tickets... all the distributers use the same practice.

Chances are you're better off waiting for the regular on sale anyway.

Yea? You going to use all those tickets for you and your friends, or are you planning on being a "ticket broker"?
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

Wrigley presales are not like most arena presales, in that the neighborhood and STH are "rewarded" with quality seats, otherwise wrigleyville residents could bitch and end the concerts at the stadium. I have purchased for numerous concerts at Wrigley through the presale and never have I gotten anything remotely "bad". Usually I end up with Field or lower reserved.

I'll probably sell the extras to my friends. I did get upper level reserved tix through 10c, so we'll see if I get something better through the neighbors presale.

  • I've gotten either field or the best lower level seats at every pre-sale at Wrigley - they certainly don't hold the good seats back for the regular sale.
