Because if you lower the barriers to entry, more competitors emerge. Many people didn't like the cost of sitting there hitting F5 and just never attempted to get tickets to places like MSG. Now that the cost is zero, everyone who sat on the sidelines will go for tickets. Scalpers included. It's gonna be way easier to scalp MSG now. You will probably also see an increase in multiple memberships so people can get multiple shows as their #1s.0 -
btw...dont forget something very important..no one mention it
before the beta and the changes at the website ,and with the previous system ,you could be online, log in from 2 different pc-laptops,with the same acount....so to have multiples screans or browser open so refresh-f5 and get chances to score
now u cant..once u log in your mobile with chrome u cant be the SAME time to anotrher device or browser log in too...when u try to log in to the second browser-device,you log out automatically from the previous u was in...."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

No. Existing members used to get tickets close to 90% of the time in my and my friends experience, due to persistence.
Now, thats gone.
New members should be thrilled...older members, should riot.

Looks to me like no one will get tickets in this test... in order for you to get your funds back they have to cancel/decline your order. It'd be more complicated to accept your order and your four dollars and then return it by cancelling later. So no "winners" except prize winners in the contest.0

Quite the overreaction to not being one of nine winners in this test it seems.___________________________________________

btw: if phish sold out 4 nights of MSG and that attendance was 100,000+ total doesnt that mean MSG holds at least 25K? and how do you put a figure on lawn-accessible venues? thats sorta how i was basing my figures - based on the shows i've seen. once again, ive never seen a show on the west coast or midwest where venues may only hold 17,000.
Seriously, have you been in MSG? A quick Google search shows capacity for concerts at 19,763.
Plus, have you ever seen an NBA game? Please point out the NBA arena that holds 25,000.
Anyway, I will assume math was not your strong suit because everything you've said in terms of your numerical assumptions bear no relation to reality.
my bad, dick. forgot to count each and every seat the last time i was at MSG. i will next time tho2005: Borgata 2, Philly

most arenas hold between 15,000-20,000, depending on the arena... MSG holds 19,500 for end stage concerts... the "wach" in philly is one of the largest in the country and it holds a little over 20,000 i think... the spectrum held 15,000, if even that
ampitheaters with lawns typically hold more
yeah i get it. i was wrong about phish i looked it up and the 2011 run was 75,707 / 75,707 so about 19k per show. i was just trying to make a point like MayDay and RS65573, us tri-state ppl, are basically relying on luck now in a market where the demand was already the highest in the country.2005: Borgata 2, Philly

dont worry my friend... me, you, and every other die hard northeast fan will win our fair share of 10c tix, and get into every other concert we want to even when we dont... PJ tix are pretty easy to come byPost edited by my2hands on0 -

You realize this has NOTHING to due with the test, and everything to do with it being a lottery right?
Wrong. The lottery will have zero impact on most shows where everyone used to get tickets and they still will. The lottery will only have major impact on high demand shows where many people got shut out anyway.
As far as scalpers, a lot of people here have no idea how brokers work. The lottery is much worse for brokers because the old system could be manipulated. Where do you think the tricks came from in terms of accessing certain deeper links, etc? Brokers have no interest in new memberships because a new club number doesn't yield good enough tickets for them to worry about.0
