There's so many amazing people just in my time. It's tough to see icons and heroes pass on. I often wonder what some of these people would be doing now and what their music would sound like. I listen to these guys a lot and their deaths still really sadden me. So many others aren't around anymore besides... when you start to think about the names it's amazing.. :(

Joe Strummer (The Clash ended my childhood in an instant)
Layne Stayley (the true voice of 90's alt. rock and 100% genuine)
Johnny Cash (the voice that was with me all through my youth)
Shannon Hoon (beautiful character and voice, a true waste of life and talent)
Kurt Cobain (could have been one of the greats)
Like a book among the many on a shelf...

Dublin 02 Arena - 22/6/10. Belfast Odyssey Arena - 23/6/10. London Hyde Park - 25/6/10. Berlin Wuhlheide - 30/6/10.
Manchester MEN - 20/06/12. Manchester MEN - 21/06/12

Imagine how epic something like 12/12/12 could've been, not to mention what they could be doing on their own and with former band mates.

Maybe I had heard it and forgotten it, but I didn't know that Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell were dead. That's crazy, the entire Jimi Hendrix Experience is dead. I didn't know Buddy was dead either, that means that Billy Cox is the last surviving member of Band Of Gypsys.

The Experience being completely gone bums me out. I can't think of a single band that I'm a fan of that's completely gone, with no surviving members.

    Kurt Cobain the most.
I really have a lot in common with him and his life story, he kept it real.
Makes me sad that we will never know what could have been.

    Others:
    Joe Strummer
    Jim Morrison
    Jimi Hendrix
    The Ramones members especially Johnny.

Yeah, it still seems unreal to me that the entire Jimi Hendrix Experience is gone. None of them were that much older than me- something like four, six and nine years older. Hendrix was like a bright burning galaxy and the whole band was so vibrant.

Same with Buddy Miles. The Buddy Miles Express opened for Jimi the first time I saw The Experience and The Express cooked- I mean cooked! One big glorious freight train of sound!

The ironic thing is, of the Experience and the band of Gypsies the only surviving member is also the only one I've never seen live- Billy Cox.

Loosing Cobain was super tragic. All those on your list left us to early. Yes, very sad.

Even though he died 10 years before I was born, John Lennon is the one musician I miss the most. If there was one person I would have loved to have met, it would be John. Since I was born, I have been listening to The Beatles and John's music. I spent the first 10 years of my life listening solely to The Beatles. They were such a huge part of me loving music and reason why I wanted to be a musician, especially John. He is my number one music hero and inspiration. Even his message of Peace and Love has stayed with me. He is missed around the world.

Another musician I miss the most is George Harrison. I remember the day he passed away and I cried that morning. Such a loving man and basically said the same thing in my explanation of John.

John Bonham. My all-time favorite drummer. His playing blew me away when I discovered Zeppelin when I was 13. His triplets on the bass drum of "Good Times Bad Times" blew me away (I still can't get those). He was a monster on drums and I would have loved to have seen him perform live.

    Others I miss:

    Jimi Hendrix
    Mitch Mitchell
    Duane Allman
    Michael Jackson
    Kurt Cobain

I didn't get choked up when George died, though I was pretty bummed about it. But I did get choked up during the Concert For George. I don't think it fully hit me until then. Seeing all those musicians playing his songs, with that giant picture of him in the background, and Dhani on stage looking so much like George, sort of brought it all back home. Even though it was a year to the day after he died, I think that's when I realized he was actually gone and it was very sad.
