Sir Paul didn't know who they were? Come ON. Live under a rock, much?

He knew Nirvana, he didn't realize Dave/Kris were the guys.

From his quote I took it to mean he was surprised that they hadn't played live together for all this time.

Sounds cool, but keep Mike miles away from this one. His other take on a Gilmour classic is bad enough.

    are you seriously meaning Mother?

Yep. His tone is too thin and weak to pull off such a soaring solo. I'd imagine Comfortably Numb would be a similar case. Also not a big fan of the way Ed sings it. It's like it's in his range but, but he's not quite grasping the phrasing or something. They have the skill to pull it off, but are kinda lazy with it.

Any idea what time Ed and Roger will perform?

I ask, only because the TV guide lists the concert as 270 minutes long...so yeah...long, long fucking concert, and I can see my ass getting tired of sitting in the chair. It'd be nice to skip, say, the Kanye West/Billy Joel/Alicia Keys/Bon Jovi parts of the show.

    I agree, except for Bon Jovi ;) 4 1/2 hrs....damn

I was underwhelmed with their cover of Mother.

Can't wait to see / hear the Ed & Roger Experience. Not so awaiting Sir Paul + Nirvana jam. Who was high assigning that formation duo?

By the way, who the fuck thought that a Paul McCartney/Nirvana reunion was a good idea??...

I am having a hard time putting my finger on why I think it's actually a perfect pairing in some bizarre way

    Helter Skelter, bitches!!!!!
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...

I would never bet against Clapton showing up ANYWHERE and playing the solo.

Clapton toured with Roger when he toured The Pro's and Con's of Hitchhiking, so I hope Clapton plays it. Gilmour would be better though.
