I have no desire to get into the argument here, but I am curious as to where OP got his/her info.
A quick review of various polls shows results all over the place. Poll-gathering sites like the one you mention seem to indicate Obama has a slight lead in Ohio. Fox show Romney in the lead. Of course I'm SURE there are no biases in any of these polls. :fp:

Oh I completely agree. I think polls have their place, but they should be taken with a grain of salt. I was just pointing out that if a moderate to moderate-conservative site like realclearpolitics.com has Obama with a slight lead in Ohio (I should note that the site gathers polls from several places - NPR, Rasmussen, dailies etc), what poll is OP getting his numbers from? In looking over several Ohio polls, I can't find one that indicates he has a lead.

Nate Silver has Obama with a 73.3% chance of taking Ohio, which not surprisingly, is essentially the exact percentage he has him winning the election.

Here's why I missed that: this Rasmussen poll was factored into the composite polling that realclearpolitics.com does, and is why that poll shows Obama with a lead.

This latest Rasmussen poll that the FOX news story refers to is one of 10 polls for Ohio (all updated this week) and the only one to list Romney with a lead. Selective reporting I guess.

Try reading through the FOX "News" sight. I just did, as far as I can tell its all selective reporting. But I can only guess this is the poll OP is referring to....they will not state as much. Probably because they know how much stock people here take in anything that comes from that sensationalist "news" sight.

I prefer http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/ myself......mostly because (showing my bias here) it tells me what I want to here.

Such a nerd, but so damn smart. His model is pretty accurate and I'll take the chances he has Obama at right now.

So Romney has a bunch of billionaires and Obama has a bunch of poor people donating? However the total number of people are about 50/50 for each side?? Yet they both have about 1 billion dollars total in this venture! Hmmmm something dont add up! Maybe the truth is that there are just as many rich people for Obama and just as many poor people for Romney! How about that bud?

    You failed at math.

And your basic grasp of community politics.

Although more people donated to President Obama (and not "a bunch of poor people," either... I donated and I don't call myself "poor"), the individual donations to Mitt Romney are higher in number, on average. But it shows that more people who support president Obama are willing to donate to him... and fewer of Mitt Romney's supporters have donated to HIM.

And don't call me "bud." I'm not your bud.

Truth....there are just as many rich people for Obama as Romeny: There are just as many poor people for Romney as Obama......and the middle class....is now for Romney! They both got 1 billion dollars...so its time for liberals and Obama to quit saying that Romney gets all the millionaires money....cause its the same on both sides

  • Truth....

OK... when you make a statement like that. You kinda have to back it up with something. You have a link to a poll or a story or a pie chart?

yeah, it had nothing to do with running against a 100 year old man and a fucking train wreck for a VP candidate.

  • The energy and support keeps growing for Romney in Ohio and elsewhere. All battleground states moving in his favor and Ohio for the first time, is now showing Romney taking a clear advantage. Why? Obama's ground game there in Ohio has been in place since the last election, now for almost 4 years. The money, organization and ads there were overwhelming. The policy strategy with the auto industry was a very big power play. The ads were very attacking, divisive and memorable. What is happening? So now what does the President do, if all he has done, is not working? Throw more money at it? Change tactics and message in attack ads? Deploy bus drivers to pick people up and take them to the polling stations? What will he do.....as time goes by....and desperation takes part?

Your thoughts on what Obama can do?

hypothetical question: if Obama wins, what will you have to say? that it was fixed or something?
