Romney now leading or tied in OHIO polls!

The energy and support keeps growing for Romney in Ohio and elsewhere. All battleground states moving in his favor and Ohio for the first time, is now showing Romney taking a clear advantage. Why? Obama's ground game there in Ohio has been in place since the last election, now for almost 4 years. The money, organization and ads there were overwhelming. The policy strategy with the auto industry was a very big power play. The ads were very attacking, divisive and memorable. What is happening? So now what does the President do, if all he has done, is not working? Throw more money at it? Change tactics and message in attack ads? Deploy bus drivers to pick people up and take them to the polling stations? What will he do.....as time goes by....and desperation takes part?

Your thoughts on what Obama can do?

    OK.

Honestly... I think many of us have said all along that there really is no way to know how the election will turn out. There are many factors to take into account and gleefully proclaiming things like "this candidate now leads!" or "congratulations to this candidate for winning the election" is clearly just baiting. Which is why nobody is taking you seriously.

For it to even be this close is already a failure for Obama and all his cohorts! Its already a failure....and there is a BIG reason for this.....the reason is that he is a terrible President! If he was just average, he would be up by 10 pts. everywhere! He is terrible and the numbers are proof!

Well... actually... if he were such a "terrible president," maybe you can explain why Mitt Romney isn't greasing him. Why is Mitt Romney only "close," as you say?

    Romney wins easy.

I'm rather offended that you would personify veterans, seniors who've worked their whole lives and the first responders... many of whom are on social assistance that they have EARNED... in such a way.

I guess showing a little humanity is just a bit too much for the aliens from Kolob, eh?

winning and losing aside, the fact that Romney is close or even ahead in many states is proof enough that many of the people that voted him in in 2008 have become unhappy with the job he has done so far,in 2008 he took the election by a huge margin right ? now he is struggling to just hold an even race and the fact that he is out funded almost every month says something also, just this last month alone Romney out funded Obama by $45 million and this tells me there people with great influance that want him out...people that may have helped to fund Obama in 2008 are having a change of heart and putting their money on Romney.

So... A bunch of billionaires are pouring swimming pools of money at someone who will look after their best interest and not the best interest of the people... And you use this as proof that the president is terrible.

I use that as proof that a good leader doesn't suck up to the billionaires and instead stands up to them.

You say that people who gave him a lot of money four years ago are now supporting Mitt Romney.. Any examples?

And most of all... While Romney has raised more money from a handful of mega-rich donors... President Obama has broken the record with the NUMBER of donors. He's scored small donations from millions and millions of people.

Now... Which is more impressive.. A small number of millionaires or millions of regular citizens?

it really means little though, millions of people or millions of dollarsbecause on election day the only thing that matters is the votes and we're almost there so soon enough we'll find out who our next president is.

realclearpolitics.com, which is a poll-gathering site that is generally moderate to moderate-conservative, has Obama ahead in Ohio 48.6 to 46.7.

I have no desire to get into the argument here, but I am curious as to where OP got his/her info.

could you not also say that the people who are giving alot of money this year just didn't give last time to mcCain? you might be right that some people who voted for Obama last time are now voting for Mitt this time but I think we have to wait until the voting is done and we review the number of votes that each person got and then we can evaluate your position. Until then everything is an opinion

A quick review of various polls shows results all over the place. Poll-gathering sites like the one you mention seem to indicate Obama has a slight lead in Ohio. Fox show Romney in the lead. Of course I'm SURE there are no biases in any of these polls. :fp:

Oh I completely agree. I think polls have their place, but they should be taken with a grain of salt. I was just pointing out that if a moderate to moderate-conservative site like realclearpolitics.com has Obama with a slight lead in Ohio (I should note that the site gathers polls from several places - NPR, Rasmussen, dailies etc), what poll is OP getting his numbers from? In looking over several Ohio polls, I can't find one that indicates he has a lead.

Try reading through the FOX "News" sight. I just did, as far as I can tell its all selective reporting. But I can only guess this is the poll OP is referring to....they will not state as much. Probably because they know how much stock people here take in anything that comes from that sensationalist "news" sight.

I prefer http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/ myself......mostly because (showing my bias here) it tells me what I want to here.

Such a nerd, but so damn smart. His model is pretty accurate and I'll take the chances he has Obama at right now.

So Romney has a bunch of billionaires and Obama has a bunch of poor people donating? However the total number of people are about 50/50 for each side?? Yet they both have about 1 billion dollars total in this venture! Hmmmm something dont add up! Maybe the truth is that there are just as many rich people for Obama and just as many poor people for Romney! How about that bud?

    You failed at math.

And your basic grasp of community politics.

Although more people donated to President Obama (and not "a bunch of poor people," either... I donated and I don't call myself "poor"), the individual donations to Mitt Romney are higher in number, on average. But it shows that more people who support president Obama are willing to donate to him... and fewer of Mitt Romney's supporters have donated to HIM.

And don't call me "bud." I'm not your bud.
