Wash Lyrics

Go check out my link on the bottom of my post...

Maybe you guys can give me a little input. I see Pearl Jam Posters/Memorabilia all over for sale. I just do not know what the value of this is. Maybe you diehard fans can help me out with this one. I mean it does have Eddie Vedders initials on the bottom. This was professionally framed as well so it has been kept in great condition from the day I received it. It was hand-written by Eddie himself and it was not copied. So I would have to believe this is one of a kind. He wrote it on the top portion of a shoebox and handed it to me @ PNC many years ago.

Please feel free to shoot me an email with any good information for me....\

  • Hope to hear from someone about this. I just don't know and that is why I am asking all the die-hard fans to maybe give me a little input...

  • It is real. He personally handed to me while I sat front row back in 2004. You can check the setlist. They opened up with "Wash"

    Notes from FH Concert Chronology

notes: 'Wash' opens brilliantly with the band entering from the shadows, Ed holding a pizza box with the lyrics written on the box (he gives it to someone in the crowd saying, "Hold onto this for me?"

Glad it was not a pizza box.

How come posters which are numbered out of 200 or 500 or even 1000 cost anywhere from $200-$1000 or some are higher. You would figure my lyrics are one of a kind but not worth that much. Kind of surprised

This is imo a high collectable item :D

Its not easy to get a pricetag on it but its just what a person who wants it is willing to pay for it to get it.
You have it profi framed and its in his first and good condition and will be staying that cause of that..

A realy cool and unique item :D

imo keep it and enjoy it...Ed said hold it for me ;)

  • I have no problem getting it authenticated just who would I go to do that. I know sports memberilla can get Authenticated but who would I go to for this.

There a bunch of posters selling without authentication. And some prints are def fakes.

    That is sweet man...

Yeah, I'd get an authentication.. If you're going to keep it, obviously you know... but as for a collector, they would want it..
Did you get a photo of him handing it to you? that would serve the purpose...

Obviously, it's worth is what the market demands

I reckon, scale what people say on here they'd pay, and that would give you a bit of an idea...

If I had money to spend, I would pay probably $1000 for it, with authentication...

Good luck... (but I'd hang on to it :) )

Holy moly... That is a thing of beauty. Wash was opener at my first pj concert in may '92 so it holds a special place in my heart. DON'T sell it. Ed said hold it for him so hold onto it and give it a hug. You are so lucky to have it.

    Peace

    It is terrific.

But like most things, worth far more to the original owner then anyone else. Still, find the right person and guarantee authenticity..... could go for a pretty penny.

cool items like this would go to the grave w/ me...i have a few...lil different...but i have a few...

the value cannot be estimated compared to what it means to the owner...

If you worried bout leaving something of value to your kids/grandkids...get it authen...

if not,...sometimes its way more cooler/special to know in your heart what you have...

    cool item!!!
  • Thanks for the input. Does anyone know where I can get something like this authenticated? Can they authenticate with it being framed or are they going to have to take it out of the frame?

It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. It's a one of a kind piece so it should be sought after. I would guess someone would drop $1,000 on this.
  • Amazing piece right there. What an item 8-)

I would say if put at auction it would go for around $1,500.00

But I could be off on that.

    Good luck.

 So you decided on a $9,999.99 price tag??? Don't gorgeous guitars signed by the whole band go for less than that?

Yeah. the dude is a bit ahead of himself with the price.

Actual lyrics for "I got id" authenticated by Eddie sold for about $1,200.00 in 2006. These were not reminder lyrics for a show. These were actual lyrics torn from his notebook, and came with his autograph and a bunch of other cool shit.

Now I think these went for much too low, and would probably fetch somewhere around $5000.00 I would guess now a days.

But I don't think the OP's "lyrics" from that show are worth much more than 1K-2K, and perhaps no more than a few hundred dollars. If I was brimming with cash, I would probably go no higher than $800.00 for the Wash lyrics.

Yeah, it's just the lyrics scrawled in a box lid the day of the show in 2004. Ed obviously just wanted to make sure he remembered the lyrics and wrote them down before going on stage. He's priced it as though they are the original lyrics from the day he made them up... in the presence of the president of the united states of america, who also signed the lyrics for good measure. This item couldn't be worth more than a few hundred bucks plus the cost of the frame..... if anyone pays more than that I'll be irritated. Sorry OP.

Yeah, his price is a joke. Don't get me wrong, a very sweet item but the basketball up for 4k is better than this ten fold imho. I'd say this is worth more like 1-2k. If you really need the cash, being greedy won't get you it. If I were you I'd keep this on your wall for the rest of your life, would be worth more than the money to me.
What the fuck is this world?

So for the record that Lebron James card I got an offer today for $16,500 so get your facts straight before you speak. Go get a Beckett and you can see for yourself. I know this is a Pearl Jam board but I just want to explain to you that you have no clue what the fuck your talking about. That is the most sought after rookie card produced for Lebron James. It was made by Upper Deck, and that year they introduced the product Upper Deck Exquisite. They were $500 dollars a box, which was only 5 cards in one box (One pack per box). Go look online for the boxes they are going anywhere from 8k-10k now just for a box. So Mr. Know-it-all please go back to flaming me for no reason because I did something to you.

I know the price I put on the "Wash Lyrics" was never going to be reached. But I will state that some of your opinions are just flawed. Because he wrote it before a concert and on a shoebox makes it less valuable? It is hand written by Eddie Vedder with his initials EV on the bottom. I understand it is more valuable to me. As you can see by my price I am really honestly not looking to sell the piece. I was just trying to get some offers to see the realistic value of the piece. You see you can offer me any value you want not just $9,999. I put it at such a high value to make it on top of the list when you search pearl jam highest price items. I guess I put the price to high. But it looks like I got you guys to talk about me so great news for me.

Just curious why did you some of you choose to mock me instead just ask me a question on why the price was so high on eBay. I would have explained myself, because at first I did come on this board for some input. I barely come on this board, and this is one of my reasons why. I get made fun of my Lebron James card but what does that have to do with this topic on a Pearl Jam message board.

I may be one of the few people that actually would suggest slapping a ridiculous price on it first to see if anyone was willing to put up that kind of cash. You're not a poster flipper and you're not trying to make a profit off of something illegal. I don't see the problem here.

Thank you. First post without flaming me. I appreciate it. Everyone on here is making fun of my price point or even ripping the fact its not from one of his notebooks. I mean its hand written lyrics by Eddie Vedder. I would never sell this piece for a few hundred dollars and I know it is worth much more than that and not just because I was given this amazing piece.

Hey... If this thing goes for $10,000 on ebay then the shoebox might be worth $20,000 :D
