That tree has a Mao Zedong ornament on it.... so while he may not be a Muslim, its hard for some Christians to believe he is Christian...

Oh, ya... and the Dems denied God 3x on the convention floor... no biggie.
First sentence of the article you provided a link to:
"Rather an odd Christmas story comes from Breitbart’s Big Government site today… photos taken, per the article, days ago of the White House Blue Room Christmas tree. "
Too funny.
And who cares if they denied "God." I deny the Christian "God" every day; does that make me a bad person?
Separation of church and state. As it should be.
So.... you've separated yourself from God, you say.... great.
The problem with Statists, is they are always confusing the STATE with the INDIVIDUAL.
But back to topic...
Yes, the article mentioned Christmas, b/c it was a Christmas tree... so................... why so funny?0 -

It didn't take me long to find this:
http://www.therightperspective.org/2009 ... tmas-tree/
"Proof that the tree features the ornaments, featuring Chairman Mao, drag queen Hedda Lettuce and even one of Obama’s head on Mount Rushmore, has been furnished in the form of photographs, which have been shown in the reports. However, say the skeptics, it is those very close-up shots that prove the story is false."
Also, did you watch the Democratic convention? Did you not hear how many times speakers said "God Bless America"? Did you not see it open and close with prayer?
Ya, I saw that dog and pony show.
Seriously though, you said your mom is a devout Christian. How'd your mom feel about the Dems removing God from the official platform, and then denying God on the floor three times?0 -

Once again, you make no sense.0 -
Let's be clear... the fact that his name is Barack Hussein Obama, the fact that his father was raised a Muslim (who later abandoned his faith), and the fact that he spent some of his childhood in the Muslim nation of Indonesia (though his step-father was not religious)... these are the primary reasons I think people believe he is a Muslim today. However, we also know that he has been a practicing Christian since his 20's.Post edited by kenny olav on0

Well, first, I don't think she cared if it was ever in the platform, and second, Obama is the one who asked to have it put back in.
Personally, I don't think a political platform should have anything religious in it at all.0 -

Who took it out? Biden?! aahahahahaha.
Anyways, your posts illustrate what concerns me most about Democrat "Christians". They seem to put their political philosophies ahead of their religious teachings.
How can a "devout Christian" that travels the entire world to spread Christianity, not care "if (God) was ever in the political platform" of the party that he/she travels their state to champion the policies of? Abortion issue- no conflict?
just curious I guess....0 -
Probably because religion and politics should be separate. Why should a god that you have absolutely no evidence for effect my life?Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. I think it was a consensus among Democrats that religion had no place in their platform... probably out of respect for the many Americans who either don't believe in the God of the Bible, or don't believe in any god. Or because they believe in separation of church and state.
My mom used to have a conflict with the abortion issue... in fact, she voted for Bush in 2000 mainly because of that. I think she voted Republican in every election before that too, except she voted for Carter in 1976. But she's voted Democrat since 2004. I'm not sure that she doesn't have a conflict with it now, and I can't really speak for her views on it. I remember she told me that my sister told her something that changed her mind so that she could vote for a pro-choice candidate.
Personally, I've never considered abortion to be 'murder'. There's about 1 million abortions every year in the USA alone, so if it's murder, then there's literally millions of murderers all around us. I certainly don't think abortion is ever a good thing, but I understand why people make that choice... at least early on in the pregnancy.0 -

Exactly. Why should I be subject to laws based in faith when I am an agnostic?0 -
