  • I was in Stockholm. It was a wonderfull experience. Nice summer evening and parachutes falling above our heads. Katowice, Poland is a cool bootleg:

"The June 16, 2000, concert in Katowice, Poland, is one of the best and most unique in Pearl Jam's series of official bootlegs documenting nearly all of the band's concerts in 2000. The band was originally scheduled to play in Budapest this night, but instead played a second night in Poland. Only about 3,000 fans showed up to the show, causing the band to play a very intimate and spontaneous show. In an unusual move, the concert starts with four mellow songs in a row before building up to a rocking climax and then winding back down again during an eight-song encore. There is great interaction between the band and the small crowd throughout the night, and the 30-song set list is filled with less frequently played songs in the band's catalog, and all the performances are clean and tight. A special and memorable night recognized by the band and fans alike as one of the best of the year."
...swallowed my breath and went deep, I was diving, I was diving
I surfaced and all of my being was enlightened...

Yeah went Manchester 2000, my 1st PJ gig. Great gig.

Unfortunately some of the 2000 bootlegs don't show how good the shows were. Stockholm & Olso are excellent boots I think but I was disappointed with both Katowice ones, to me there seems little atmosphere from both band and crowd on those boots.

San Sebastian is a car crash of show but you have to listen to Alive - probably the worst performance of the song the band has ever done!

I went Manchester 2000,the boots were not that good though.
  • I went to both London's and Manchester. Remember the gigs being great, the boots don't do them justice (though are much better than any audience recording of course)

Been very impressed with the 2012 boots I have to say

Went to Manchester and Cardiff - Manchester was great as it was my first PJ show and so will always be fondly remembered but Cardiff had Red Mosquito, Leatherman, Pilate, Immortality, I Got ID, WMA and Smile - astounding! It was also a smalller venue so had a bit more 'intimacy' than Manc's MENA.

Band was awesome but agree that the boots don't quite do them justice.

    Awesome opener.

Like a lot of people in this thread, I went to the Manchester show and it too was my first PJ gig.

Always amazes me looking back at that setlist how lucky we were to get Footsteps, Leatherman and Timeless Melody. I was a PJ noobie at the time, so they were lost on me at the show, but the bootleg does get played from time to time to remind me how great that show was.

There's one boot from a Dutch festival that IMO isn't very good. It's quite short and the band just doesn't seem to be on form.

  • went to zürich and berlin, both were great shows. zürich crowd was pretty mellow, lots of green smoking there.... berlin was on a rainy day, long show- and matt was on fire. remember me standing there with mouth open while matt was playing like from another planet at the end of immortality.

Went to London 1. That was my first PJ show... and was what got me hooked on the band! Seen them on every European tour since.

At the time I couldn't believe how long they played for... the show was so much longer than any other band I had previously seen. Looking back though, that show was probably a bit short by PJ standards!

And I was thrilled that they decided to start releasing boots for every show after this tour. It was great to have an audio souvenir of a show I loved so much, and I remember listening to the boot over and over and over again reliving it!!

  • I was in Hamburg and it blew my fucking mind!

This was before we had internet at the house, and the only live stuff I had heard of PJ was live on 2 legs and a couple of boorlegs from the 93 and 95 tour that I had found in a cd store in Copenhagen..

It blew me away that they sounded so good in person, that the crowd was SO into it, and that they played as long as they did! Crazy Mary was rare shit back then and Black was IMO the best version of that tour..

The only songs that I still haven't heard since are Evacuation, Soldier of Love and Rival.

Yeah, i went to both London shows.

Was near the front on the 2nd London night and got Mike's setlist at the end. I caught it and some woman tried to snatch it from me, so I screwed it up and shoved it in my pocket for the whole train journey home, got back and laid it out flat and. It looks pretty cool and tells a story.

    totally agree

I went to Paris! it was my first PJ show. I can clearly remember this time. it was a beautifull moment.
The Vandals were the opening band.
When PJ came on stage, i was impressed by their simplicity: no amazing decor, just the guys and their ampli. i loved the light show.
concerning the music, i remember "Grievance" and "insignificance" ," Breakerfall" in the beginning and "nothing as it seems" that was resounded in Bercy.
    a good souvenir

but i don't like the way they cut the boots. I've listened to the Seattle 2 this week and some speech are cut.
not pretty cool but it was the beginning of the boots
