This is Gullfoss, a really cool waterfall in the canyon of Hvítá river in Iceland. When you first walk towards it, the actual crevice is hidden from view so it looks like the river simply disappears into the ground. It's only as you get up close to it that you can see the full effect.Post edited by goldrush on“Do not postpone happiness”

It may not look like much at first glance (unfortunately my photo really doesn't do it justice) but Cape Reinga, in northwest New Zealand, is a great example of nature at its most captivating for me.
Cape Reinga is the point where the Pacific Ocean (coming from the East) meets the Tasman Sea (coming from the West). This photo is facing North, the darker Pacific waters are on the right, the lighter Tasman waters are on the left and the white, unsettled water stretching out to sea is the point at which the 2 seas collide.Post edited by goldrush on“Do not postpone happiness”

Last weekend - funny how the catfish were fighting with the ducks and swans for food....
The catfish would actually push the ducks and swans - I never saw such a crazy thing.*********************************************************************************************0 -

Fort Lauderdale
although the sky was extremely dark, the sun (behind me) was still brightly shining off the buildings, giving the pic a bit of a surreal effect, if you can see it.
(you can see shadows from the "awnings" at the top of the building but yet the sky all the way to the horizon down the road was dark as night)“Do not postpone happiness”

Milford Sound, New Zealand. I know, another waterfall! This was taken from the back of our boat as we were reversing towards the waterfall. I like the way it looks as though the waterfall is cracking the water below it“Do not postpone happiness”
