I had never heard of these CD's but my oldest is.... Well they are older

My kids grew up listening to Pearl Jam.... My youngest went through a huge Beastie Boys phase when he was 3.
They always went to sleep with music and this was in the days before kids bop.
They Might Be Giants was big in my house at bedtime along with the Animaniacs.
The only cover album we ever had.... Bugs Bunny sings the Beatles
There are so many covers and mellow beautiful Pearl Jam songs to relax and fall asleep to....no need for a separate CD.
UNLESS the Rock A Bye CD gets your kids to sleep then it's priceless!
If your kid likes it then it's great to you too.
(This is why I can still sing Barney songs almost 20 years later :? )“This is a ah another request fulfillment. If none of the other of you like it at least one guy does. Actually it’s a girl, she’s right back there.”

I had a girlfriend in high school. I put on Temple of the Dog, because I thought it was 'soft rock'. She asked if I had Sade. I should have known at that very moment, she was wrong for me. My dumbass married her. I was stupid!
Personally, I'm for the full lead. Work them in easy with the 'softer' songs and next thing you know they're 8 years old and asking you to play BLOOD, again!0 -
Wow...this is a heated discussion of sorts. Play what you want to...just be good parents! Play the real stuff or the instrumentals...just be parents...teachers will appreciate it and the world too. Oops added my two cents.

This is probably the second or third thread about these albums that I've read. Each time I am amazed by the number of people complaining about how lame they are. Let me break it down for all the haters...They are music for BABIES...produced and recorded in a style and with instruments that a baby's ears are more open to hear and enjoy. End of story. Do y'all hate Willie's "Just Breathe" because it's different from the original? It's the same thing in my mind.
That being said I played these two and the Dave Matthews and Radiohead lullaby albums for my daughter when she was teeny tiny and she loved them! They would calm her when she would cry in the car and help put her to sleep at night. In fact she is now a year and a half old and just the other day I put in "Babies Go PJ" and she was totally diggin' it!
My opinion, these albums are a great way to start introducing your bambino to music, and more to the point, great music at that.0 -
...some people are acting like babies...so this album is indeed for those who are hating! I still stand by playing what you want...just be a rockin parent for your child!parintachin73 wrote:This is probably the second or third thread about these albums that I've read. Lol! Totally. I'm all for playing awesome music for babies, but to criticize playing baby-ish or toned down music to babies is pretty silly!parintachin73 wrote:This is probably the second or third thread about these albums that I've read. But you know what? Who cares either way!
It's not like we're babies ourselves - I think we can take it! With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
