His defense of "my dog likes fresh air" shows just what a soulless person he is.
I can't imagine what kind of monster would do that.
And his story that the container was "air tight" is first of all bullshit (the dog would suffocate on the 12-hour trip) but clearly not true... if no air can get in... how did the doggie diarrhea get out?0 -
Obviously not an animal lover. He probably uses the dog as a prop.0

I was wondering why Michael Vick supported him when he came to Philly

Absolutely. It has to be viewed within the cultural context. As appalling as the idea of eating dogs is to me, as long as Obama isn't stealing puppies from his neighbors and roasting them up on the grill now, I don't think it compares.CH156378 wrote:Bronx Bombers wrote:

From what I understand its actually not custom in Indonesia among Muslims who consider dog meat along with pork as unclean.0 -
But it is within the cultural norm to eat dog in Indonesia. It's not customary among Catholics to eat meat on Fridays during lent, while it is customary among the larger American culture. I was raised Catholic, but have eaten meat on Fridays during lent and on Good Friday no less  No one looked at me sideways.Bronx Bombers wrote:CH156378 wrote:Bronx Bombers wrote:

Isn't Indonesia like 90% Muslim, if so you would think this would be outside the cultural norm.0
-
Not from what I've read. It's common to eat it within several of Indonesia's non-muslim communities, as it is common to eat meat on Fridays in the US if you are not Catholic. Even as a Catholic, you could eat meat on good Friday in the US and that would be an accepted practice by the rest of the culture. You have to consider the entire cultural landscape of the country.Bronx Bombers wrote:Isn't Indonesia like 90% Muslim, if so you would think this would be outside the cultural norm.

Speaking of culture and dogs, I was surprised to read about a significant number of puppy mills being run by Amish. Apparently Amish, or at least the Amish who run puppy mills, view dogs similar to other livestock.0

What about letting a dog ride in the back of a pickup truck? That truly isn't safe whatsoever but I witnessed it all the time growing up. It's more rare to see today, but people still do it.CH156378 wrote:i would argue that riding around with a dog on your car in the united states isn't custom. where as being introdced to dog meat by your step father while living in indonesia is custom . i don't really see the comparison.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0
