Thirty Bills Unpaid wrote:I just expressed that it came somewhat of a surprise to me that you spoke so strongly in the post where you presented the case. I don't know you very well... but if you remember correctly... I jumped to your defence a few months back on this very forum. There is nothing personal between you and I- I don't subscribe to your way of thinking as it relates to several of the topics within this particular thread- no big deal... it's allowed.
You are clearly 'in the minority' when it comes to sympathizing with James Holmes. I would speculate that the numbers are overwhelmingly in favour of a really quick trial and execution. Regardless, you are welcome to your position and we don't need to revisit this topic in too much depth- we've done that already ad nauseum.
I have studied Columbine (followed the case when it happened... read the book, Columbine, which was excellent). Those boys were 'outcasts' for lack of better word, but that doesn't excuse their actions. It is the shits that kids cannot treat each other more fairly, but I have never felt any pity for Eric and Dylan. Kids are cruel, school is cruel, life is cruel... but that doesn't give someone a license to go wreak havoc on innocents as an expression of their rage. If anything, target your specific adversaries... not helpless girls hiding in a library, praying to their lord as they stare down the barrel. No... those boys are where they need to be.
And no nothing personal at all then or now.
I am clearly in the minority on most subjects so that does not surprise me.
That does not surprise me either the bloodlust for James Holmes.
But it does sadden me knowing mental illness and it's victims.
The link I posted certainly was something I had never read and painted them harshly
as never being victimized by bullying. How I feel about revenge killing goes along
with those who prey on others, as I posted earlier, in most cases.
I do think though the Columbine shooters may have been very ill,
what came first the ill or the bullying I don't know.
I have also known some extremely depressed people and life was not valued, their own or others,
paying back society was a common threat while moving towards suicide.0 -

i just want a more peaceful earth that's all. seems to me women are more peaceful. men in power seem to be war mongers and the like.
for y'alls information... i'd never vote in michele bachman or that screwy ass sarah palin. those two woman are fulla poop six ways from sunday. they aren't good leaders and they sure aren't peaceful... at least palin sure isn't peaceful. she murders wolves & bears for entertainment purposes. i would imagine sara palin collects firearms like some collect bubble gum baseball cardsfor poetry through the ceiling. I wish they could have done something to keep that gun out of the bad guys hand. I'm sure you agree that a cold blooded killer should not come to find himself with a gun as easily as I assume he did. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0 -

I believe there's some truth to this.
I certainly believe that if there were more women 'around the table', there would be a bit more conciliation and peace. I am not saying men are useless - far from that. It's just a different way of thinking. The women with some power at the moment (or in recent past) are not what I call 'real' women - such as Merkel, Thatcher, etc. These are women 'being' men in a man's world.
Edit - sorry my quoting went all wrong so I did it some other way - hope I got is right!
Therefore you see how quick a woman's ingenuity, they will always think or figure out a way to solve a problem.
The number of women world leaders are growing as we speak and even in this country we WILL have a woman as President one day maybe soon.

Ban all ammo. 2nd amendment only says you can bear arms, not be overstocked on ammo!!
2nd, only allow weapons technology in civilian hands from the time this amendment was written._____________________________________SIGNATURE________________________________________________

That would certainly cut down gun accidents and mass shootings for sure.

In the world of sheep these stand out. They will protect their neighbors and even
a stranger when needed, risking their own lives because they know this is the
right thing to do.
Others know they must be able to protect themselves and their loved ones if the
need arises. They are aware of the very personal dangers or circumstances they live in
and are prepared as they see fit.
Then there are some who are unprepared, untrained and weak ...
with a gun or without, they will be a victim when the time comes,
a victim of their own stupidity or of someone else's.

So I gather you must not be a good guy since you apparently don't own or carry a gun. Therefore this very same crime could happen to you. Also just because one has a gun doesn't automatically means things are going to turn out the way you've stated..it is not as easy as you think.crux of the problem, laws can't keep us safe or guns out of the hands of the bad guy...
why good guys need them.
Yet when it's suggested to have more checks on internet purchases you appear not care for simple checks and balances of waiting period, registration and background checks. You appear to say that will take away guns from innocent victims.
So it appears you're saying everybody who is a good guy make it easier for them to get guns because the bad guys no matter who they may potentially be can always get their guns. OKay
