Fair enough....can't respond fully, on my phone but all about getting to the playoffs hot. Gotta have people come back though.

Something we can all agree on.....Derek fucking Jeter. 17 seasons of 150 hits. Only other player to do that in history is the one and only Henry Aaron. Derek Jeter, ladies and gentleman.

I'd say Jeter has to be in the top 5.

    Ruth
    Gehrig
    Mantle
    Joe D
    Jeter

There are 3 in the next bunch that you could make a case for any of them to be in the top 5 and I really have no idea how you can rank these 3. Whitey, Yogi and Mo.

In the next bunch after that, DS will have a conniption, but you have to include Arod. That group is Arod, Reggie and Dickey, I would think. Arod is the best out of that bunch by a long shot. If Arod played his whole career with the Yankees, this exercise would be much tougher.

And think about this. The current Yankees infield. Between Arod, Jeter and Cano, I would say we are watching the best 3rd baseman, shortstop and 2nd baseman in Yankees history on the same team.

I didn't have a conniption but my ass did clench.

I'll be able to watch it, but had tickets and thought I had a meeting that would bring me up there. Oh well. I'll be up Sunday.

Very important 4 game set here. This could possibly play out the way the rest of the season goes.

So, how many MILLIONS are the Yankees paying Derek Lowe to be a middle-relief pitcher?

Since Cleveland is on the hook for his whole salary, the Yankees are paying the pro rated league minimum, which with about 30% of the season remaining comes to about $144,000. So yeah

Very very nice job from Phelps, especially considering he was at 20+ pitches after 1.

Nah, he was released and cleared waivers so Cleveland was on the hook for everything left. He said he talked to a few teams but the Yankees came in and signed him. Since Cleveland is on the hook for the rest of the $15 mil, they got him for nothing.
