You not see the ""? hahahaha
I've lived in an apartment for 2 years without AC. Had huge window fan. It didn;t help much. The 5 showers a day helped for about 15 minutes a piece. I love AC. I'd rather have it than heat.hippiemom = goodness0 -

i live in a triplex where i control the heat and ac ... i only turn it on when the tenants crack and usually they hold out pretty good ... although i live on the top floor of the house where its hottest ... i employ a system of open windows in opposite sides of the house along with shades and a fan and i can usually get by for 95% of the hot days ...0 -

I knew I forgot to add something here (note to self- no more posting when dog-tired.)
The whole house fan gets turned on as soon as outdoor air gets down to a reasonable temp in the evening and usually stays on until mid-morning. At that time, we shut all the windows and close drapes and blinds and the that keeps a lot of the heat out for several more hours. During the day the heat build up in the rafters which even with ceiling insulation heats up the house. In the evening, the whole house fan blows that hot air out the gable end vents while drawing cooler air in from the windows. The pitch of our roof is very shallow so the heat builds up rather quickly. Folks I know with steeper pitched roofs and whole house fans and decent insulation use AC even more seldom than we do.
An even better solution is a hillside underground house with the open wall facing south (or north in the southern hemisphere. Earth sheltered homes remain very constant in temperature."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis0 -

No. I'm really not. If the roles were reversed do you think shit would be any different? Hardly.0 -

Youre right. That's why I don't worry about it. My life is too short to not worry about myself, my family, my friends, and then my fellow countrymen...in that order. I have no time in worrying about what is going on elsewhere. If India can't keep up with their power needs that's their problem. Maybe pass a law or something regulating childbirth.0 -
