anyone else a dork like me who purchased the sticker/pin set last night? They charged me $10 - for stickers. I asked if it was a mistake, but the wall clearly said $10. Granted, it is a $5 premium over what I was expecting to pay, but...wow $10 for some pins.
It was only $5 in Montreal so I was pretty shocked when I saw they had doubled the price for Toronto!

Great show thanks Eddie, I am assuming 10 club members were sitting in Left floor center and honestly the people in that area were pretty good and respectful. I barely was blinking during the show I was staring intently I was basically in a trance. Eddie was incredible.
On a side note read the Toronto star review it seemed as if the guy missed half the show. The Sun had a great review for Toronto show 1.

the sun had a great review? i find it hard to believe that they had good anything (tabloid!) they are the same paper that suggested that PJ were old and washed up during either the 2003 or 2005 toronto dates....

My afternoon/evening couldn’t have gone any better. Because of this very board, I have met some very wonderful and beautiful people whom I now call friends. I was able to see some old friends and even make a few new ones over the course of the afternoon, prior to the show, which is always fantastic. Then, I met my lovely man and he had made some new friends too, so we had a few drinks and smokes with them, which was much fun!!! After the pre-show partying came the top of the pops!!! We got ushered to our seats and they were the closest I have ever been for any live show ever!!!!!!!! I was in awe of their awesomeness and am just so thankful to have had the opportunity to experience Ed up close like that. The setlist was fabulous!!!! ARC was spine-tinglingly beautiful…the whole show was just awesome, IMO. Shoot, I even got an Ed hand slap at the end of the show!!! I’m never washing this hand again!!! LOL! Hee Hee!
Forget your perfect offering, there is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in. - Leonard Cohen
I liked the crowd in Toronto 1. I thought it was entertaining and ed handles it so well. He knows when he's talking with long pauses that people will shout out, so when he wants to keep talking, he just does that. Otherwise it looked like he was having a lot of fun with crowd, and that was really really fun to watch. More than a few times he left us in stitches with his retorts to the peanut gallery.
Liam Finn has an amazing live show. Amazing. His CD does not do the live show justice in any way, shape or form. Oh, and my wife noticed that, for the two songs Liam played with Ed during Ed's first encore, he was completely flying low the entire time....I suppose he was THAT baked, as Ed pointed out.
Pretty much agree with your whole post here...night 1 crowd wasn't bad, Eddie handled it well, his stories and comebacks were funny. Have to admit that the guy yelling out "How did he ride his bike?" was pretty funny after the 1-legged-man-on-a-bike story. Great show...can't get over how good it was.
Liam's album does not do his live music justice at all, no doubt. Was a bit disapponted listening to the album after hearing his songs live first, lol, but it's still a good record. Look forward to seeing him again sometime.
I had amazing 4th row seats for this show. It was my first experience of Ed’s solo show and I loved every moment.
Liam Finn and EJ impressed me a lot. Very enjoyable performance.
Here’s a story I haven’t seen posted here yet:
Ed was talking about the Into the Wild premier at the Toronto Film Festival last year and he pronounced the name of the Elgin Theatre wrong. He asked us what it was called and several people rushed up to the stage and someone shouted it in his ear. It took a bit of banter between Ed and the shouters before he got the rest of the story out, but he told us how he really had to take a leak and almost ended up peeing on Massey Hall. He went behind a dumpster instead and some people who were dressed in fancy clothes called him a scumbag. He said his profession is not all glamour.
The people shouting things out in the audience did not bother me as much as I expected it to. I understand that almost everyone in the audience wants Ed to acknowledge them in some way. I can relate to that. Shouting out inane things while he's talking or singing is not the way I choose to express it, but I thought Ed handled it all very well and it gave him the opportunity to be quite funny. At one point someone shouted out "Play without the speakers!" and Ed replied, "Well, alright, how about you go outside and we'll see how it sounds." Get it? Speakers? I thought that was pretty witty anyhow.
I found the non-stop camera flashes in the crowd more annoying but I have mixed feelings about that. I can’t imagine doing anything during the show other than just soak up the experience but at the same time, I do enjoy being able to watch a clip of it later. It would be cool if people would turn off their flashes at least. You have to realize that your flash will not reach the stage unless you’re in the first few rows anyhow. You are just distracting everyone with it.
It’s been said repeatedly, but Arc live is phenomenal. It felt like Ed was channeling spirits up there.

You're overthinking. He was just commenting on the fact that without the speakers nobody would be able to hear him, and that the suggestion was dumb. But he handled it with humour. It wasn't some play on words (i.e. the audience was a "speaker" as in he was speaking). Funny anyway.

I guess you can take that sentence as an unintended double meaning but I assumed he was joking that the people speaking out of turn to go outside and we'll see how it sounds.
hey guys this is my first post ever, but i had to write in about this show because it was the best concert i have ever seen and i have seen alot of shows. the next best show to this one was the Hamilton show in 2005. anyways the only bad thing about this show is that i forgot my camera at home so i was wondering in any of you out there have any pics from this show that you can send me that would be great because i was so dissapointed that i couldn't take any pics of the BEST show i have ever seen. well my email is niles33@hotmail.com so if you can THANKS.
cheers

P.S. eddie please come back soon i didn't get to see you both nights because scalpers were way to high priced, not that your not worth it lol, i am just broke from the summer.
Ah Toronto. Night 1. City I so want to move to. Just waiting for the right moment.
I had Row N Seat 56 that night. Right Floor. I'm a huge trader, b+p'er, torrenter, freebier of the world of Pearl Jam live music cd/dvds. Got a sweet resume out there. Trust me. A friend from the RM boards had a friend from Toronto that was looking for a ticket. I had a spare. So I hooked her up. As you help other's, you feel good. What I try to do, till the end of time.
Night was great. Our side though, the crowd was insane. The screaming chants, the hockey singing, the requests. Can't ya leave the "man of golden word's" play on stage in peace. I got goosebumps when he play's. Let the man play, and just stay quiet.
That day I headed right next door from my hotel stay at the Delta Chelsea Hotel to do the Eddie Vedder Wishlist Foundation Fundraiser at the Elephant & Castle Pub on Yonge Street. It was totally amazing. Maxine, Roger & Rhiannon were on hand from Annex Cat Rescue - http://www.annexcatrescue.on.ca/ . I love them so. We raised $615 dollars for them. It was an amazing day.
I did make one mistake that day (towards a friend) & I wished I went back in time and took care of it. But the is gone. And can't change.
After Liam's set, I got tapped on the shoulder. It was 100 pacer. He had met Eddie Vedder, who gave him a signed poster to donate for the next day fundraiser. We were doing The White Ribbon Campaign. More info about this amazing story, check this out. http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=299400 .
PS .. that night, while walking on Yonge Street & Bay Street, I was searching for the man's lost leg.
An absolutely brilliant show. Probably the best concert I've ever seen. Every performance was amazing, and eddies added humour to the crowd was awesome. If this isn't allowed, please remove this post, but does anyone have a copy of parts of the concert? I need to see arc again. Hard sun at the end was also amazing. The concert in general was fantastic, if anyone has any parts of it please PM me or email me at sleightofhand27@gmail.com
Once again if thats not allowed, please just delete this post.

Massey Hall is not my favorite venue in the city but it's legendary existence is not to be taken granted for. Many greats have graced that stage. Especially Marley, James Brown, Zappa, The Band, Neil, and Iggy & The stooges were there last week, just b4 EV.
We were 10C'd, about 15 rows back under the overhang, off center. I was surprised the sound was good there. Thanks to 10C cause those 2 Toronto shows sold out in record time. Scalpers were making a killing, from what I heard/saw :(
This was #2 of 3 shows. Of course there's the EV's standards by now and I still love alla those, but, to me, it's about what was different. I had no idea Long May You Run was gonna happen and that moment/feeling is something I will never forget...I expect goosebumps when I hear that song on the bootleg(anyone???). It was THE moment.
I yelled twice for I'm One, and got The Seeker...not a bad trade off!
Liam Finn & EJ are just so damn good. Liam is a 1 man band...incredible to watch cause live is where he shines on.
Hey, am I the only PJ fan embarrassed by her comrades? All I've read about EV's shows is that we're a bunch of assholes. It would be nice if the rude fans would shut up. Or maybe we should police ourselves and surf the offending yeller up front to be ejected by security. "Such fine examples,..."

Well I held off from posting for a while....shy I guess. But I need to say something.
I have been a Peal Jam fan since the very early days and considered I knew a fair amount.....well turns out I was wrong....very wrong.
Both my wife and I had never been to a PJ or EV show before.....it was always a dream to go to a show and with two kids these days....its even harder.
We really didnt know what to expect....yes we knew the musicwas truley great we have always known that......but we didnt expect this kind of experince....the culture the people and the kindness.
At 33 years old well over 15 years of being a fan...we were transformed into new fans....new people...almost a life changing experince. Right away we noticed everyone we met were so positive, knowledgable and very giving....especially the 10C members we met. I paid $600 for two seats in the gallery.....yep i know its alot....but I didnt wanna miss this.
After we ate we decided to walk around Massey Hall and see what action was going on...we met a very kind fellow who was waiting with a few others to see Mr Vedder before the show.....who he had told us Eddie just exited a white cargo van 10 minutes before we came.
I dont know this fellas name...wish I did now but he told us it was his 25th show that night. He taught us about the people the culture and the man and the band, and how lucky we were for our first show to be a Solo EV show......he said it doesnt get more special and intimate than this. He told us about the posters, boots, the fans everything he was a great guy etc etc....and the benefits of the club.....he was a true ambassador of the club.
By the time we finished speaking with this gent near the tour buses....we were really excited to get in the venue buy some shirts etc etc...and enjoy the man named Eddie Vedder.
Honestly I dont think I could enjoy Liam properly because we were so excited to see Eddie. The seats were ok...not great.....but the music....the voice....the foot stomping and the intoxicating guitaring.....changed me musically forever.....I found myself in a staring gaze so many times. The peoplearound us took us in like family and we all jammed together...high fived and just truley enjoyed together. No yellers or anything could ruin it at that point.
Eddie played music we have never heard from him before......for me Walking the Cow was the biggest deal to me....its one of the most beautiful songs I have ever witnessed and it was only the first song.
It just was great from leaving the parking lot when we arrived to going back to the packing lot after it was over.....everything between was amazing. Thank you mystery PJ 10C fella....thank you fans.....thank you Eddie....and thank you my loving wife Lindsay for sharing it with me.
Ever since I cant buy enough PJ music and boots....I became a 10C member right away bought some gear and its been a daily addiction ever since.....a life changing experince for me.
Im a noob.....so I will ask is there an album or anything I can or find with Walking the Cow on it? I dream to hear this again.
I really dont knowanything about torrents so I was hoping maybe there is this song on something they released.
Thank you for listening.....this meant something to me.

wow
These were my first shows too, and I can't say how very lucky I was to have met the people I did, because of them, one really great guy in particular who even put up with some drama, and the amazing Mr. Vedder, I'm pretty well sold for life.
Glad to see I'm not the only one late to the experience, and now just anxiously waiting for my chance to see to band in person - listening to old shows is driving me crazy!!
Sounds like you had a fantastic experience, great to hear, and once again, thanks to the awesome people here

hey,
did anyone else think the taped ewbaciast at the start of the show kicked some butt? i would love to get a copy of that if anyone can hook me up, please let me know, thanks.

just got an email back from Nick.
amazing time man. amazing time.
You can say that again...

Sounds like you had a fantastic experience, great to hear, and once again, thanks to the awesome people here
So no one catches you?
did anyone else think the taped ewbaciast at the start of the show kicked some butt? i would love to get a copy of that if anyone can hook me up, please let me know, thanks.
