Eddie, what happened in CPH?

Eddie if you read this, you are THE man.
This is the story about when I meet Eddie Vedder, but what happened....
He came out of the Forum in Copenhagen about 02:45 and we where about 20 fans still waiting for him. Every one got a private little chat with him.
I was the first one he came towards to, he pointed at my yellow Swedish hockey jersey and laughed (like, oh it's you), so I said - Yes, I'm the tall yellow guy. I have been standing between Eddie and Mike in row 2 or 3 in all the Nordic gigs. I am 1.97m and wearing a yellow jersey makes me hard to miss. When I told Eddie that I become a member of the 10C 1993 he gave me a hug! Then he lifted up my left hand with his right hand and put an EV Bat plectrum in it, at the same time he closed my hand with his left hand, my fist is now between Eddies both hands (it was really emotional), he told me: This is for you, keep it safe. Then we chatted a bit, I told him that we'll meet again at his solo show in London July 31st. I'll wear this yellow jersey, so you'll see me on 6th row. We talked some more, shaked hand twice and he told me: Thank you for listening. Then he walked to the next fan.
But what did really happen here? I don't know what I actually though should happen? But I though I was the fan, not the other way around. It was like he actually opened his hart for me, like, he gave me the pick with love. Think of it, you are standing with the plectrum he just gave you in your'e fist and Eddie is holding his hands over and beneath it, it was almost like a religious moment. It was like, your'e love is reciprocated.
He was truly care taking, listened to what I had to say and seemed interested. I've always thought that Eddie is a nice guy but after this meeting, I say that he is probably the nicest person on earth.

That's a great story, Eddie sounds like an amazing person to have a conversation with. If I ever meet him the only thing that would probably come out of my mouth is " You're the man, Eddie!" or "You fucking rock". Meeting him would make it impossible to say something worth while because his presence would be so over whelming.Go listen to John Frusciante right now!0

Eddie is one of the most gracious, most humble human beings I've ever (not) know.
We could all learn a thing or three.
He's a fan of all of us. We're there for them every night and they thank us. We've all gotten each other through some tough (and easy) times.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -

Stories like that make me think,if he didn't change the world with his heart in his music, what else might he have done in his life to change the world in his way....thoughts anyone?...I will walk w/my hands bound
I will walk w/my face blood
I will walk w/my shadow flag

and waiting for the world to come along...

I'll second that.
I admire and love them for their respect and love for music and musicians, families, and fans, love and peace...their quiet humility when they muddle through a song or interrup one on a dime when things get out of hand...and, most of all, their thoughtfulness that goes into each setlist every night...A toast to

I'm a 34 year old man and I can't believe how jealous I am of you. Lol. Great story.0

Tobias, it's all so true. And i'm really happy for you that you got that experience. I met him under similar circumstances before an LA solo show in 2008, and while yours was a little more in depth, that same, individual feeling is there. It's a genuine interest in what you say and what he says at that point in time. I'll never ever forget it. And he looks you in the eyes. Incredible.-Chris
