I thought it might have been mentioned on the AET radio show one day that they were taking a break....
Plus I think they were disappointed with the VS/Vitalogy sales...
    I could be totally wrong....
    I hope....

I get the same vibe. The Vs/Vitalogy sets didn't sell as well as they hoped. Mainly because they've had a few sales (free shipping, free vault #1 etc..) to try and clear them out. I'm guessing that's made them think twice about reissues.

The downside of that is that the first 3 albums were the easiest to obtain on vinyl before the reissues. The original mixing is fantastic (and far superior to modern mixing). The need for a reissue vs/vitalogy was much less need than 10. IE at least 10 benefited from a new remixed version.

My instinct tells me the band/10c were disappointed in the vs/vitalogy sales. Hopefully they realize that there's alot more demand for the subsequent albums as they didn't have nearly as many copies issued.

When we used to have the old rumor pit you would often see ideas that got left on the backburner. I hope it doesn't happen with the reissues.

I'm thinking that made them think twice about deluxe combined box set reissues. Not reissues. There is no way Pearl Jam isn't going to reissue all their albums after having done it with the first 3 (the normal reissues, not the box sets).

. I think the box set idea is stupid, and that's why it didn't sell well. Why buy the Vs/Vitalogy box set for all that money when you can get both regular reissues for $12 each?? I mean, seriously. All they have to do is release each album on its own and stop worrying about the gimmicks. I say there is no way they won't reissue every album (and drop the box sets). PJ values vinyl too much to stop after only 3.

They did release the re-issue albums individually. The box sets are geared toward more hardcore fans who want all they can get of Pearl Jam. They re-issued Ten in 4 different formats: Box set, vinyl only, CD, and digitally. Clearly they were trying to please everybody. Same with Vs/Vitalogy. The box sets are just the premium version. They included DITP and Orpheum in the box sets exclusively to entice vinyl lovers to buy the box sets. In the end, people will only buy what is in their best interests.

Yeah I know. I own all the regular reissues and think the box sets aren't working for them ... you just repeated everything I mentioned ... Not sure you read what I said clearly. ;) As I said, you can get the normal reissues for $12 each, so I don't see why many people would spend that much on the box sets.

If so I know why. No DVD video included in the package. With Ten, they included a DVD, MTV Unplugged. Sweet right? The Vs. / Vitalogy combo. 2 amazing records & 2 amazing tours, they didn't include not even one single DVD video in the package. If they included say Live in Atlanta '94 DVD or Melbourne '95 DVD, that would surely off boosted the sales of this release. For their next project (No Code / Yield), let's all hope they include a DVD or a Blu-ray disc in the combo box set.

Please explain to me why No Code and Yield would be in a box set together. People keep talking about it, so I assume 10C said something about this coming?? I want to know why they would package these two albums together. Seems dumb to me.

Finaly got them all, waiting them out at Ebay i was able to get

No code 100$, Yield 140 (mint in plastic, actually had a hard time taking it off), Binaural 200 (yeah, auch), Riot act 100 $ and Avocado 140 Mint (it says, havent recived it yet).

All in all not to bad.. and im very very happy that i can finaly listen to them all on vinyl. And no... i just could not wait ... (a hole lot cheaper for me though as i am from Norway and the dollar value is like 50% less)..

Just came home from a PJ Gig, Olso, Spektrum ..Awsome! show! :D

Also, if they are doing that, I hope they're planning on reissuing regular albums in order, meaning they'd have to release No Code, Binaural, RIot Act, AND Yield before doing this silly box set??

because vs/vitalogy came in one box and yield/no code are the next two chronologically?

I've also felt that PJ albums (except for ten) feel like the come in pairs. Vs/Vitalogy, No Code/Yield, Binaural/Riot Act, ST/Backspacer.

No Code and Yield are the Jack Iron's albums, they have their own vibe, and you can feel his influence all over them. Vs/Vitalogy are the Dave Abruzze era albums.

Yeah, you know I was having a massive brain fart and got the order of the albums wrong. :fp: I forgot Yield came before Binaural. If they go that way, it would have been way better to go Ten/Vs, Vitalogy/No Code, Yield/Binaural... But still... box sets are dumb. Just my opinion. I know some people like fancy things. I guess I'm old school. Although I do like a nice insert. :)
Anyway, cannot WAIT for the next normal reissues!!!! Hurry up Pearl Jam, please!! I need Riot Act!
