this is something odd... I don't think I would appreciate this one live, though I wouldn't complain, I'm sure most people will love to hear this live...

To be honest it's pretty awful live. Just doesn't work. Studio version is great but live is a different beast.

I think the chorus is better live, but they haven't really worked out those verses.

This, and GTF, is exactly why I don't think that much of AMS 2. Since GTF was first played, and then later with UK, yeah, no such thing as a brilliant show without them songs in it.

    There.

And for the record, yes, PMPM most definitely sucks live.

Exactly the same as me. Ocean isn't exactly a song made for the UK or Ireland! Think they played it in London 96 and maybe a couple of times on the '92 tour.
Maybe they could play in the west of Ireland - there's a great surf there!

I wouldn't mind to listen to the live, but I would never expect, more over, if I were ask to make the setlist as the charter fan was, I would never request Push me pull me, I'm open, Gremmie, Whale song or Black Red Yellow... but that's me...

I wouldn't lump Gremmie in with that lot.

    1. PMPM and I'm Open are clearly Ed's attempts at proper prose, setting aside conventional songwriting, so in a live concert setting they just don't work
    2. Gremmie is a blast. A laugh. Not in the sense like Bugs is a bit of a novelty song. It really could be wonderful, given the right crowd, in the right venue, with the right spirit. Copacabana. Maui. Surfers Paradise. Them's where this would be great.
    3. Whale Song - this one isn't actually sung. Well, i wouldn't call it singing, anyway
    4. BRY - yeah, it's a rarity. Have they got better songs to play? Damn right they do.
