no not my dreams, just calling it like I see it....but you vote for ever you want and I'll tip toe through the tulips when Romney wins.

fyi : in an earlier post I said I don't think Romney has the back bone for the job either so it's a gamble but given the choices we have and the guy doing/not doing the job now I don't see any other option.

Obama birth certificate OK by Arizona official

PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona's secretary of state said Wednesday that Hawaii's official verification of President Barack Obama's birth records meets necessary requirements, meaning the president's name will appear on Arizona's ballot in the fall.

The inquiry launched recently by Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett gave official weight to a long-simmering political controversy generated by those who say that Obama was not born in the U.S. and therefore is ineligible to hold the nation's highest office.

The Obama administration attempted a year ago to dismiss the conflict by releasing his long-form birth certificate showing that he was born in Hawaii.

But skeptics maintained their stance and eventually Bennett announced he would seek further verification at the request of numerous voters who contacted his office, even saying he was prepared to leave Obama's name off the state's ballot in November.

Bennett said in a written statement that Hawaii officials "have complied with the request, and I consider the matter closed."

Bennett's office says Obama's name will appear on Arizona's November ballot as long as he wins his party's nomination and all paperwork is properly completed.

Hawaii State Registrar Alvin Onaka sent the document Tuesday confirming the information on Obama's birth certificate, such as the Honolulu hospital where he was born and the names and ages of his parents.

Hawaii officials have repeatedly verified Obama's citizenship as skeptics have maintained that the president was born in Kenya, his father's home country.

State and federal courts also have rejected lawsuits over the issue.

The verification process was the subject of three months of back and forth, with Hawaii officials saying Bennett had to show why he needed the information as part of ordinary business.

Other Arizona officials over the last year have raised questions about Obama's birth certificate.

Last year, the state Legislature passed a bill that would have required presidential candidates to prove their citizenship before their names could appear on the state's ballot.

The proposal was vetoed by Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, who called the measure "a bridge too far."

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who calls himself America's toughest sheriff, had a volunteer posse launch an investigation into the issue, ultimately saying in March there was probable cause to believe Obama's long-form birth certificate is a computer-generated forgery.

Earlier this spring, Bennett's office made a change that requires candidates to complete a new form asking eligibility questions, including whether they are natural-born U.S. citizens.

In the past, political parties drafted their own certification documents that Arizona officials say didn't consistently address the issue of qualifications.

It's really strange how people can be so firmly entrenched on a side that they can't acknowledge why something like this raises questions. For me, those questions are about our system and process more than casting Obama in any sort of negative light.

If you're dismissing this, is it because you believe that document and story are false? If so, based on what? Do you think the literary agency was making that up for some sort of gain? Why? There are only two qualifications necessary to run for President. If there's a chance that this wasn't validated, shouldn't we be discussing what the hell is going on and how that may have happened?

    back on topic...

don't you people think that if his citizenship was such a concern that there would be a senate or congressional investigation into it? if they had proof the republican controlled house would certainly have attempted an investigation. if the anti obama gop is not going after it, then there must be no proof.

this is just something that the right wing blogosphere can not let go..

I agree, also I could care less ..worst case we are stuick with him for 4 more years but I doubt it.

    Something more to go on?

How about this: Bigdvs is living a lie He doesn't even know who his father is or where he was born.

Pretty easy to say about someone. No need to have any proof. I said it, os it is true.

just out of curiosity, do you have anything to back up the accusations you are throwing around?

people throw out wild nonsense all the time on here and then get upset when they get called on it.

you make the claim, at least please provide evidence or a basis for your beliefs.

i just want to know if you have information and proof, and if so please post it so that we can read it and possibly learn something.

and once again, i ask the question....

if obama's place of birth is such an issue, why is there no congressional investigation into it? the gop has a majority in the house, why don't they investigate it??

I thank you for asking in a reasonable way. I agree there is a real Hawiian birth certificate and am willing to drop or unsay any crazy birthish stuff. That said it does not change the fact that he has concocted a story for most of his life that he was a foreign exchange student from Kenya (2 witnesses from Tom Ayers neighborhood have collaborated that this what they were told about the teenage Barack Obama in the 1980s). It is documented and well known that he traveled to Pakistan using his Indonesian passport while in college. He claims in his book (Dreams) that his father loved this nation and was buried in an American flag drapped coffin in Kenya?!?! Thats just a start there is more, some I can not even get into because I had family working for Hilary in 2008 that currently work in or adjecent to the WH. When Bill Clinton and Joe Biden call your story BS you know its serious because those guys know it.

Because I think it exposes more about the system than anything else. If someone has a bug up their ass about Obama, it's easy to run with this place of birth stuff as a slight against him. But when you really consider it, it's much larger than that.

In the abstract, I think that rule is in place to prevent someone from heading our country while possibly having the interests of another nation in mind. Even if it turned out he was born in Kenya, I don't think this is a concern with Obama. However, if Congress really dug into this, it starts shining a light on the machine and its election process. As long as this is an issue that keeps average citizens fighting with each other, they'll feed the beast. Once shit starts getting real, our major media outlets and leaders would much prefer to clam up on it.
