MSG2 was pretty fucking awesome, but I must say, a few nights before, Newark was pretty damn good too - and they opened with Of The Girl - I'd been waiting to tick that song from the bucket list for quite a few years.0

Absolute blast, both nights!
My brother came up from Philly on nj transit and had never taken public trans before. So he calls me up and asks: Do they search you on the train, or should I just not bring my weed?

Wish I was there! I listen to it all the time. One of my favorites is "Just Breathe", they did it so pretty with the string quartet."Now YOU listen. When we are on this ship, you are to refer to me as 'Idiot' not 'You Captain'!"

I still gotta go with the two shows from 2003, though these are not far behind at all.0

Black + The Real Me + Hunger Strike. Had been DYING to hear Black, Mike was doing all kinds of fun things during The Real Me (running laps round the stage, Mike's sexy dance) and then they pull out Hunger Strike? I just assumed I'd never hear it live.LukinFan wrote:One of my favorites. What was everyone's highlight of the show? Mine has to be Lukin2
I left feeling completely happy and fulfilled. I remember thinking it felt like their last show ever so I was freaking out for awhile after that

Happy Anniversay indeed!
Flew out from San Diego for night 2 @ the Garden...I really expected a great show: NYC, final night, etc...
Funny - everyone in line was saying "Neil's gonna show up", "they can't top last night", etc...
It was LUNACY trying to get a Donkey Kong poster...
Band of Horses absolutely set the stage for the night by kicking ass as the opener...
I remember thinking after the AMAZING 6 song start (Corduroy, Hail, Hail, DTE, WWS, Got Some and Breath) "Holy crap, we are DEFINTELY in for a special rocker tonight!!!"
I'm still not sure if there has ever been a more energetic (better) 2nd Encore (Wasted Reprise, Betterman, Black, Real me, Hunger Strike, Alive, Kick Out The Jams, YL)...
Been to over 20 PJ shows, some great ones for sure (Borgata 2, NYC 7/9/03, Aladdin '93, Camden 00, SD '09)and dozens of other artists (U2, Beasties, Tool, VH, KISS, Bruce, Dead, etc...) - I own a TON of boots - NOTHING has compared to the ENERGY, let alone the performance...the guys had a friggin' blast that night...
And for everyone of the haters out there with their "this day was better, overrated, Philly this, or Boston that, or Alpine this" - yes - great shows - ALL of them, but please go to the GTF forum and tell me where any of those are still getting responses 2 years after the fact - and over 36 pages of threads/responses
This show is magnificent, probably one of the higher selling boots and I am quite convinced while there will be special awesome shows in the future, nothing will ever top that night.
Happy Anny MSG 2 - thanks for the best night of live Pearl Jam I''ll ever experience. More importantly, thanks to all of you in attendance that night - they fed off of the energy in that room for sure!11.30.93~10.2.96~9.13.98~9.1.00~8.25.00~7.3.03~7.5.03

Attending this show makes only having attended two PJ shows easier to swallow
It was everything I could have ever imagined an more. Those two days, the first time I experienced PJ live, were definitely out of body. Best two days of my life, and not exaggerating. The first time seeing your favorite band live- a band that means so much to you and has helped changed your view on yourself and the world- wow. Take me back! Awe, I love MSG 2 threads
I was sitting behind the stage it was truly mind blowing to see the crowd especially THAT crowd from the bands view....the ending of Black when everyone was clapping hands together in unison  Just so so thankful I was there....
