Yes...supposed to show up to the show Thurs.imalive wrote:imalive wrote:quite an impressive leap by the singer at around the 1:00 mark. he got at least 6 inches of air

Not be be redundant ( already posted in the Mike thread ) - don't miss this one guys. I couldn't have been closer to Mike - such a small venue, could watch him bend every string (literally had to step back a time or 2 or would have had his guitar neck in my face). The band's actually quite good - my UFO fan husband said he'd see them again and he's not a cover band kind of guy.
And I won the signed Bobble Head they raffled off
Rumors are that there will be some special guests at the Troubadour.0 -

Will be interesting to see what goes on over the next few days. While i assume this won't be PJ members he has a lot of friends down here
Mmm...I could see Tom Morello stopping by The Troubadour to say hello.0 -
Won't be Mike Ness - Social D is still on tour for the next few days."You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

Mike is kind of a bad-ass.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Don't hesitate to go see Flight To Mars on this tour. If you're a Mike fan or a UFO fan it's a no brainer. I'm a huge UFO fan and these guys just killed it last night. It was spot on, loud, and one of the most enjoyable shows I've seen in awhile. Plus it's for a good cause. The chick Sabbath band, Mistress of Reality, was also surprisingly good. The singer did the songs better than Ozzy has since 1972. The cute little bass player shredded and the guitar player freakin' nailed it. I'm not just blowin smoke either. I was impressed! If you're going to the Troubadour get there when the doors open and get a bite to eat at the grill in the back. We ate there when we saw Brad there two weeks ago and it was very good. Way better than the pictures on the menu.0

Just got home from the San Diego gig...
HOLY SHIT!!!
FTM rocked the house - played a TON of killer UFO tunes, and brought out a special guest at the end of the show...
ACE MUTHAFUCKIN FREHLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW
Black Diamond with the band and it rocked!!!!
Mike was literally 3 feet away all night, Paul signed my Klausen poster, got 2 "Michael McCready FTM" pics and the Casbah might be the single greatest place to see a live band...
Arrogant Bastard on tap (as well as Stone IPA) didn't hurt the cause either
The Sabbath chick band rocked balls too...
What a great night...
If you can, get to a FTM show immediately - Mike so enjoyed it, Tim, Gary and Paul certainly are in top form...
WOW - amnesia couldn't make me ever forget what I witnessed tonight...
Cool thing - Ace played with the boys @ the Borgata in '05 - and I happened to be there. The fact he did Black Diamond tonite was incredible...Not sure, but it might be the only 2 times Ace and Mike jammed together - can't believe I was in attendance at both!!! As a KISS fan also, doesn't really get much better than this!!!
Feeling fortunate and grateful & the ears are ringing like a bitch

Loved it, loved it, loved it.
Seeing Mike in such a tiny place was beyond cool. I mean, the whole of The Casbah might be about the size of half a basketball court, and that's probably being generous, so that was great to see him up close. And the band was really, really good as a whole. Better than I would've expected. Plus Ace Frehley? Come on.
The one negative, if I can channel my inner 'angry old man' (I'm 42, that's old, right?). People...people. Enough with the camera phones! I get it, it's our boy Mike. He's right there in front of you. But my god, take two or three pictures and then enjoy the rest of the show. I was only about 10 people deep but I could barely see him through the sea of arms and flashing devices held over everyone's head the entire show. The cat next to me must've taken 200 pictures....no exaggeration. I hope this isn't the new norm but I fear that it already is....0 -

so what's the timing of events for the troubador? more specifically, when does ftm come on? i've got a kings game to watch :think:0 -
they say
opener at 9
FTM 10pm
Troubadour site is usually pretty acurate. if anything it will bump back 10-15 minutes“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”0 -

I was thinking of going to the King game before FTM, but I don't want to feel time-pressured in case they go to OT!0 -

Gotta agree - the camera phones were out of control. Fantastic show though. Mistress of Reality - Must see. So fun, and the bass player was especially kick ass. Ears are still ringing though, forgot just how loud of a place the Casbah is."You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.
